Sleepy
unfortunately it's just me. i need 2 more members to form the comedy troupe Back Alley Alliance with ;_; and like i'm 99% sure i'm the first guy here to have finished umineko so i'm totally a golden witch I mentioned this at Discord at some point but.... Well... I kind of... didn't like/get Umineko, at all....Maybe it is based on a videogame that is much better than the anime I watched, which would make sense because it looked like something that'd be based on one.I went in hoping for the typical detective formula of showing cast, their connections, and potential motives/issues > Have someone killed in a way that makes it a closed room scenario or any other impossible murder scene that could exist out there > Have detective badass give logic to it all. What I got instead is that the setting restarts again but doesn't really necessarily seem to follow the same chain of events every time to analyze on from different angles, and instead characters might and most likely will take different paths. Yes I did read the summary of the bet with the witch before jumping in, I just wasn't sure how it was gonna develop... I guess it's not my thing or I could just be missing something.I was excited about it on the first 5 episodes, then dropped it a few episodes into that second part.I didn't really "get" it. ^^" - - - - - - - - As for your member group. Let me look up that trope.*goes to Tropes page*
~ P O L A R I S ~
You're right, Umineko isn't very good tbhimo. A member group just happens to be a permanent solution to the Christmas lights, which are sure to be here for a very long time.
mitchermitcher
Yeah, the anime was definitely not good, not only because Umineko doesn't work as well when it's not mainly conveyed with text, but also because the anime only covered half the story even though it's a mystery(?). It's an adaptation of a visual novel and it really shows. Whether Umineko itself is good or not, I disagree that it's not good but since you, Polar Ice, tried the visual novel I can at least respect that.
