Dragulas
[spoiler=Effect]2 DARK TunersIf you use this Fusion Summoned card you control for a Synchro Summon, you can treat it as a non-Tuner monster. If this card is in your Graveyard, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 Level 5 or higher monster you control; reduce its Level by 4, and if you do, Special Summon this card, but banish it when it leaves the field. You can only use this effect of "Blackstar Tuning Dragon" once per Turn.

Darj
Really can't tell how good this card can be, or rather if it can be problematic. After all, it's a Level4 Tuner accessible through Instant Fusion and Dragon's Mirror, it lets you make a Synchro along Tuners, plus it gets to revive itself as a +1 for extending combos in Synchro-laddering decks, although it does have that 1-turn stun on the effect. You could also be silly and exploit it in Level8 decks to make a Rank4s instead and continue re-using this card's effect as long as you can keep dropping Level8s. The latter is what concerns me more, so I would give the effect an "once per Duel" clause, or banish the monster when detached ("Gimmick Puppet - Shadow Feeler" clause) to stop this exploit. Sleepy
It actually supports Synchros a little more than it does Xyzs because of its pseudo-Level Eater effect that cannot work off Level 4 or lowers or off any Ranks.Rather than making it a "Once per Duel" effect, I'd rather it be a hard OPT clause and eliminated the drawing part. Maybe do something like swapping the Level instead of absorbing it. Something along the lines of: You can target 1 Level 5 or higher monster you control; Special Summon this card from your Graveyard, and if you do, switch this card's Level with the target, also, that monster becomes a Tuner. You can only use this effect of "Blackstar Tuning Dragon" once per turn. ^Maybe with a clause saying it can only give you the option of using it as non-Tuner when it is Fusion Summoned so that when it self-revives it is actually harder to use it for a Synchro or Xyzs. IDK, just throwing out ideas. As is, an Instant Fusion target that is a +1 and enables Synchros a bit more than what there is currently available is something that reeks of winding up as a better Norden, and "once per duel" clauses get weaker and weaker the faster the game gets, when an "OPD" and a hard OPT clauses don't make an incredible amount of difference, there can be an issue. I have to admit though that I'm not personally too fond of outright OPD clauses, if it can be helped in some other way.....

I returned the effect to hard OPT and remove the draw bonus but added the banish leave the field clause, also added the non tuner ability only when fusion summoned. Darj
That sounds fine to me, but I insist in the Shadow Feeler clause to stop it from making a Rank4 every turn as long as Level8s are provided. I can already see decks like Blue-Eyes taking advantage of the Level8s they normally leave on the field.
