Outside of maybe the Solemn Traps, not sure what this would stop in terms of cards that do require LP costs [that are relevant now]. There's also Imperial Order, but then it'd probably blow itself up because since its maintenance cost exceeds 500, and thus you can't pay it. Other things that are either out of style or not really worth a shot are Qliphort Scout (obvious) and I guess Utopia ONE. (Premature is still banned though, but yeah, can't play it either even if it weren't)

Well, this is a neat card to discourage Solemn cards. Don't see many people using Cosmic Cyclone, though. Usually it's Twin Twisters. But still, it's goos for what it does. And helps discourage other Life Points cost effects, like Michael the Arch-Lightsworn and Final Countdown. It could be run as a side to discourage the Solemn cards. Not sure why you'd want to uae this alongside Chain Energy, though. O think a card that gives you benefits for losing Life Points or something would work in tangent.

There's Life Absorbing Machine, which restores half your LP [whatever you paid in the last turn], but almost no one (if anybody) runs it because the recovery is slow as hell. I admit that Chain Energy would stop the opponent from playing much though; likely didn't come up since the strategy itself is gimmicky at best.

Oh right, and I thought of another thing to piss off the opponent: Use this with Queen of Thorns and they can't summon anything that isn't Plant-Type (cost is 1000/non-Plant, but you can't go over 500).
