Cannot be Special Summoned, except by its own effect. Cannot be destroyed by battle. When an opponent's monster declares a direct attack: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. If this card is Normal Summoned or Special Summoned by its own effect: You can add 1 Spirit monster or Ritual Spell Card from your Deck to your hand. Once per turn, during the End Phase, if this card was Summoned this turn: Return it to the hand.

So definitely going for indirect Shinobird support here. I really loved their design, but I hated how inconsistent the Main Deck Shinobirds are (except Crane, it's good).
Anyways, Ryujin definitely done Spirits AND Shinobirds justice, also you could run this in almost any ritual deck, and it would make it hard to kill unless they can somehow destroy this thing without battle, in the MP2 ... but ... well.... in today's meta, it won't probably last in the Main Phase 2... but you still got your search! AND your survived a BP! Horaaay!

Card is fine for what it does (and flavor works here).

I am slightly iffy about you having to take a direct attack first to summon this for free, which nowadays does result in massive damage and still heavy board set up, despite Link restrictions (and Spirits already have issues keeping stuff on board for extended periods of time). At least this can actually be SS'd without too many strings attached, unlike most others (barring Yamato-no-Kami and the Shinobird Rituals for obvious reasons).

But then, being able to wall is good, bar stuff that can snipe at it with effects (*cough Drancia*). Searching is fine; I don't think Spirits really have any form of it themselves (except with Shinobirds; need to double check). Rituals on their own already got (Pre-) Prep for searching their required Spells and don't really need this / can find space, but guess added searching doesn't hurt either.

I don't think it necessarily has to search a Ritual Spell. Just because Espirits are the only archetype for them at the moment it's not like it's the only one that's going to be released. I mean, what if Konami makes a Wyrm Synchro Spirit deck with Synchro that return the Synchro materials to the hand at the end of the turn? Although maybe I just have too much faith in Konami.

Other than that, I have no problems with the card. If this is focused on Ritual Summoning this could be a good addition just being a high level monster you can use as a material. It could also warrant running Trade-In if you weren't already.
