Veiling
Hey there.I realized among the Four Dimension Dragons, it is Odd-Eyes who doesn't have an evolution.(Dark Rebellion -> Dark RequiemStarve Venom -> Greedy VenomClear Wing -> Crystal Wing)So I've decided to give the Odd-Eyes some love. I originally planned to make it a Pendulum Monster, but I think it is not available in the card maker.Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. You can Special Summon this card by removing 1 "Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon" you control from play and paying half of your current LP. Cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. You can activate the following effects according to the type of monster you are battling with.Normal/Effect Monsters: Double the battle damage if you destroy the opponent's monster.Fusion Monsters: Special summon 1 monster listed in the fusion materials from your opponent's graveyard. Its effects are negated.Synchro Monsters: Negate the effect of the monster.XYZ Monsters: Remove all Xyz material of the monster from play. After the damage calculation, remove this monster from play. Flash Flyer - Sakura
Uh, Odd-Eyes had PLENTY of evolutions:Xyz: Rebellion / Raging / Absolute DragonSynchro: Wing DragonRitual: Gravity DragonFusion: Vortex / Venom Dragon (also Rune/Beast-Eyes) But yeah, not seeing a reason for why I'd want to dedicate a Deck slot for this card if Odd-Eyes himself already does a good enough job on its own with searching and doubling damage on its own / not getting banished after damage calculation. Normal/Effect Monster one is fine; Fusion Monster is somewhat iffy; Synchro is fine and Xyz is somewhat pushing it (though it shouldn't be too bad). Pendulums don't care, and new Link monsters certainly don't. That and the cardmaker hasn't gotten them yet; we know they need to be in, but our admin is eternally absent and for all we know, it won't be here for a good while. Veiling
Thanks a lot for your comments. It was a pity to not have pendulum for card maker. But it is not the end of the day ;)I might have expressed it incorrectly, for evolutions, I meant the dragons with a very similar appearance.(For the dragons other than Odd-Eyes, they have an "upgraded" version while Odd-Eyes evolve by fusing with other dragons/irrelevant monsters like a Beast type monster.)By the way, do you think the community of YCM is active? Sleepy
The lack of evolution comes from a number of things. The other 3 Dragons belong to special mechanics with built-in evolutions being showcased in their respective series.Stronger Synchros can be Summoned by using Synchros as materials.Stronger Xyzs can be Summoned evolving from lower Rank Xyzs as materials.Stronger Fusions can be Summoned by using either A ) more materials (3 or more), or B ) 1 or more Fusions as materials. The pattern is that each mechanic can use members of its own mechanic as materials to bring out a more tempered/refined/evolved/perfected form. But then we look at the main Deck, and Pendulums don't really use materials and they are more hybrid cards from the Main Deck than anything else. Their theme is that the Pendulum Arc helps bridge over all other mechanics. Hence, Odd-Eyes boosts the other Dragons and evolves by merging with them, or at the very least into their mechanics. The only pure path to evolve would be for a Tribute Summon that used a specific Pendulum Summoned Pendulum Monster(s) to unlock, but that's not easy to do because Main Deck means you have to draw into things rather than have them accessible just with the materials at any point. - - - - - - - - - - - - I think your card has a lot of drawbacks. Firstly not being an Odd-Eyes itself makes it lose support. Second not being a Pendulum itself also hurts its ability to mix with the rest of the cards in Odd-Eyes decks. It is one of the bigger drawbacks of Brave-Eyes, Rune-Eyes, and Beast-Eyes Fusions, actually. There's a lot of changes that could be made for the card, but I fear I'd probably change it too much with my suggestions xD
