(2) If this card Special Summoned by this card’s effect is destroyed by an opponent’s attacking monster: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to double the original ATK of the monster that destroyed it. (max. 3000).

Does it mean it can only apply to max 3000 ATK monster, or that it only does max 3000 damage?
Either way, I think the card could have been fine without the cap altogether.
It was almost the manga version of the card, where it was about to burn 4000 LP off and chew Joey's head off right before lights out conveniently happened.

Based on the wording and existing precedent for burn cards, I'd say 3000 is likely the burn damage cap.  6k damage could end a lot of games by itself if it actually managed to go off.  It'd be funny as heck if your opponent was forced to crash into this thing and nuke themselves, and forcing your opponent to waste a negate, destruction effect or even a Kaiju on a trap card is equally amusing.
