Human Cloning

I'm not really sure if this would/could/should go in debates or not, but I'll just put it in general for now.

Human clones. That right; no typos. Human clones. I think clones would be a good idea. Just imagine all the possibilities. Say a woman is in-fertile, or even a man, for that matter, and he/she/they want to have children. You could just clone the person, fixing the degenerate gene, and allow that person to start a family. Clones could also be a source of cheap (and by cheap, i mean free) household labor (i.e. maid/buttler/ect). Of course there would have to be a way to tell apart clones and the person they were cloned from, and there will probably be some issues with "human" rights, but in theory, it sounds good. I expect some members of this forum to go off on me about "slavery" and "morality". To those, I say that "slavery" would not be an issue because these clones would be more of an intelligent pet, rather than a human being. And morality? No thanks. I'll take logic, thank you very much.

EDIT/UPDATE: You will more than likely find this disgusting, but we could use clones to solve the problem of world hunger, if you catch my drift, and you probably do.

lol XD epic

anyways....it goes the same with Robots' date=' the whole world will collaspe, if you know what I mean

i say no...

I'm sorry. I don't know what you mean. Clones would be superior to robots, though they would be similarly programable, they would be able to be controlled via pain. Robots cannot feel pain.

You can clone a person' date=' but their mind would be different

It would be a completely new person, but with the same DNA

Using them for free labor is the same as slavery

[/b]

Not really. It could be argued that something needs a "soul" to be alive, or live. Because clones are not made biologically, it can be aruged that clones do not have souls, meaning they are not alive meaning that they are not people, meaning that they cannot be under the title of slave.

This.

Also, it takes time for the clone to develop. At the least, your clone would have a difference of 9 months, assuming they started cloning you the day you were born.

Clones were a brilliant idea, they I believe were created by the Germans or Russians during world war II as a possible alternative to sending their troops out for battle.

Clones are an exact replica, in personality, and look like you do, did, and will.

Krow, that star wars post was Epic, kudos to you.

They only share DNA, not personality.

Human cloning would kinda suck, because you'd still be cloning your own self, with the same smarts that you already acquire, by repeatedly cloning yourself your not doing the planet a favor, your just simply over populating the Earth with what was already there, So in conclusion to that, you have limited the amount of babies that are able to live since they are newborns. The reason being is that the tree-huggers or whoever is, afraid of over populating the planet, thus lowering the chance of Doctors/Lawyers/Nurses/Surgeons/ and all the newborns that would of been something your not.

I would love to have a clone xD

Me = computer; clone = homework

People keep forgetting that humans already have been cloned.

I am personally against anything that will greatly increase survival rates' date=' for the main fact that we don't need a ton more people in the world. We should learn our limit and not let EVERYONE live.

I didn't know that 0.o

It won't be pretty when the clone "replaces" you in your life...

Having a clone? Maybe...not. Why? This world is already overpopulated, which means that there would have to be more crops, and such. This world doesn't need more people.

Plus, if you had a clone to do your dirty work, sooner or later, the clone would snap, and would most likely kill you. Maybe.

I'm not against it.

Its when we start making armies from them when the problem occurs.

Azuh's idea makes the whole thing more attractive' date=' though...

I will fund clonings of hot celeb chicks!

Please no... I'd lose count of how many Selena Gomez clones Slash has...

I think about Clones the same way I think about sentient Robots being created. Once their DNA and brain begin to develop, and also due to the imperfection of being a bio-engineered humanoid, the Clone could turn out to be a Psychopath. And, if we keep producing Clones, to fight in our armies, use our tanks, etc, then the Clones will obviously kill us all.

All in all, it means that the human race is wiped out. But the Clones will still survive and overpopulate the planet and destroy the world.

Which sucks.
