Konami says "screw you" to UDE; UDE sues Konami.

75001000 is a hilariously specific number. I'm sure there's a sound legal reason for it, but it's still funny.

Oh, and while we're spreading rumours, I saw somebody mention that they heard someone who is a friend of someone who works for one of the bigwigs in UDE that there might be the possibility of certain events maybe being canceled.

this could be the end of tgc as it merges with ocg. This could mean that their will be no more exclusives to tgc and ocg, so hopefully the same meta. ( wishful thinking ). right yer iv heard of reginals being canceled, but i though it was just rumors.

the only reason i can think for this the have made this decision is that;

1 - ude are incompetent so they can't afford to damage their name and brand in a bigger market ( rest of the world tht is not ocg )

2 - kde are losing money fast, so by getting rid of the sub-contracting they assume they can do the job their self and are able to save money. i fear kde have don it for this reason, and will implement their production methods on a bigger scale, and because they have no experience in this market, it could go horribly wrong.

the end of tgc is nigh ( always like to end on a happy note )

I think it's number 1. UDE is probably dragging KDE in a trainwreck. Rarity changes, printing TCG exclusives, not doing anything to get the OCG exclusives, Duel Terminal... they are killing this game. Just look at the other UDE card games they haven't last long. They should stick to printing hockey cards. (no pun intended)

It would be interesting to see what happens. Maybe the banlist could get better' date=' or maybe not.

basically from now we have the ocg advance list, tgc is abolished so we can use ocg cards in tournies now. that means cat synchro can be used

I'm pretty sure that's not exactly how things are going to work. After all, most of us are not from the OCG region or can read their language, and having people use tons of cards that nobody can understand doesn't exactly make for a good time. Tournaments would be longer due to need for explainations, and there would be bellyaches all around.

Is it also fair that players would be able to get OCG cards that some can't because they ordered them online, while others didn't have the money to do so? Or are we just going to start getting massive prints of OCG cards for us?

we gonna start to get a lot of the cards that the ocg have, and also lets think about what us in tgc lose, the tgc only cards that were not published in the tgc exclusive pack we could lose those.

however i almost certain because ocg only used 2 - 3 languages and they had the same cards i believe they didn't care what language they were in just as long as they were ocg ( i could be wrong )

could somone explain to me how UED can sue konami?

from how I understand the situation (which is woefully un-informed in this pretictular arangement) doesn't konami own Yu-Gi-Oh, and therefore allowed to cancel their agreement with UED and do all the work themselves?

and what does this mean about the cards themselves, does that mean everything is going to be at the rarity the ocg has, and we are going to get cards at a more correlated rate?

does it mean I have to go buy all my cards over to be allowed to use them?

these questions need answers, if anyone has any info, please link.

So the cards will be in japanese from now on???

How exactly do you get that? That would be the stupidest thing in the world.

Hey' date=' everyone, let's sell these people cards in a language they don't understand! :3

plus, there are english versions of the cards sold over there. I have a few of the older ones.

I think it's a combination of both. As we have all seen, UDE has been relatively incompetent in their actions, but we cannot neglect the effects of the current global economic state, and, at this point, it's probably no longer an economically sound decision on behalf of Konami to sub-contract YGO to UDE outside of Asia.

This is certainly good news for me, since it would seem reasonable for Konami to keep their rarities and thus will not jack up high prices for those of us with less discretionary income. I do wonder about how Konami will deal with the yet unreleased cards in America; will they put the OCG decks/etc. out all at once?

How about simultaneous releases? That certainly sounds nice. Pack prices: dropping down to $1.50 with Asian arrangement?

This is horrible news. UDE at least tried to make good changes, but Konami kept stopping them at every turn. Konami already had control over what was important, namely the rarity changes, set list changes, and when what cards were released and where. Konami was even responsible for almost all of the censorship of the cards when they came over from Japan, if I recall correctly.

tl;dr:

@Tea: Don't their packs come with like 4-5 cards in each, though? I don't remember if that was a one time thing or not.

If we did transition to all OCG releases, I think we'd be better off. We wouldn't miss out on another SD, and we might get Duel Terminal, even though I doubt it, because arcades are not as popular in places like the US, and it would be a big undertaking to put them all over the place.

Isn't UDE responsible for the tournaments?

I guess it comes down to, which company is responsible for what... I hear the tournaments aren't as big or organized in Japan.

And also, lul @ people who are going "WTF is happening!?"

It's pretty much written in black and white. Konami's taking over for UDE. UDE is sueing them for breach of contract, for 7500-1000 Life points, I mean, dollars. If you, for some reason, dislike PDFs as much as I do, its on shriek's tcg.
