Phantom Roxas
/Assault Mode monsters can only be Summoned from the Deck. You have in your hands a two-thousand-year-old silver statuette of a horse of unknown origin' date=' found in the Ural Mountains. Roll a Research Check to attempt to identify origin! You roll a 1. Examining the statuette, you declare that its style suggests that it was forged by Montezuma. The rest of your team notices your mistake and laughs you out of the scientific community.[/quote'] Fixed. I meant to say Deck, but after already typing "Graveyard" for Destiny Heroes, I messed up with /Assault Mode. I still stand by my question. First off, the Destiny Heroes are a splashable engine. Slash-Busters require the deck to basically be built around them. The Deck doesn't have to be built around it, but I'm not saying they're splashable. If you're running the Slash-Busters, then you're also running Buster Mode, some method of unclogging dead hands, probably some of the Buster Mode support, Tuners, non-Tuners that work with the Tuners to give you the monsters you want, and depending on the Slash-Buster, support for that Slash-Buster's Type-theme as well. You're pretty much going to have to build your deck around them. And using a few /Buster cards would lead to dead draws, am I right? Sixth and lastly' date=' returning a monster to the deck is fundamentally different from placing one in the graveyard: all monsters start in the deck, and all draws are conducted from the deck. Thus, Destiny Draw places a monster that was once in the deck and sends it to the graveyard, whereas the corresponding Slash-Buster card simply takes a card that was already in the deck and puts it back there.[/quote'] Regardless, you're sending a card that was once in the Deck somewhere. Yes, but the net impact is significantly different. The reason Stratos-Malicious-D-Draw is so pro is that you not only just drew two cards but you also now have a monster in the grave that was never there before, and has only ever been in the deck. With Slash-Busters, you take a card that was once in the deck, and...oh, well, I guess it's still in the deck. Not a lot changed. Well, you now have a chance to summon the monster you sent to your Deck. Thirdly' date=' returning the monster to the deck increases the likelihood of further dead draws. I need say no more here.[/quote'] They're in the Deck, as they should be, and you already drew two extra cards. The point is not that this card is bad but rather that it isn't comparable to Destiny Draw. That's what I'm saying. They're the same, with two distinct differences that don't greatly affect the comparability. Destiny Draw is better, this just happens to be a fail version of it. However, that's still comparing them. To conclude' date=' since all of your Slash-Busters start in the deck, you are likely to already have another copy of your monster in the deck, which can be used in place of the drawn monster. Conversely, since none of your Destiny Heroes start in the graveyard, dumping them makes them useful for the first time.[/quote'] What if you're only using one copy? You'd run this card with only one target? Good point. Facetiousness aside' date=' the only Slash-Buster that you would have a reasonable chance of running at 1 might be Red Dragon Archfiend. Of course, card design will presumably eliminate this in the future.[/quote'] I don't see how off-color humor is relevant to this. And would that change be positive or negative? The bad thing about this card is that you can return the monster' date=' draw 2, and then have it appear again when you draw.[/quote'] You can put it the card at the bottom of your Deck. Can you really? I thought that simply saying to return it to your deck implied a shuffle; unlike Pokemon cards, cards in this game don't tell you when to shuffle your deck, but assume that you know, and the lack of a specific instruction as to where to put the card implies a shuffle. It doesn't even imply you have to shuffle.
Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
All effects that make you look into your deck (other than to just look in it, see the top cards, etc.) cause you to shuffle your deck. I don't remember where I read this, but I believe it was on the official Yu-Gi-Oh! site.

In theory, if Konami were somehow able to release a variety of not-too-themed Slash-Busters that were strong enough to play but which were not themselves solitary win conditions that would dominate the goal of the deck, we might see a couple more of them being run at 1. This is possible, though perhaps not probable. But since right now you're not going to have more than 3 at most different Slash-Busters in a deck, and you're going to be running multiples of the ones you really care about (i.e. the ones that aren't Red Dragon Archfiend), the there-can-only-be-one argument is a bit weak. Tabris
This card p-p-p-phails. You waste your time tryin' to get that Buster to the field, only to see it bein' spirited away by this card? Summa: Don't use this, unless you're menacingly desperate. Pharaoh_Atem
Good card' date=' nowhere near worth comparing to Destiny Draw, good job on again showing me why this site is bad for YGO.[/quote'] Go back to TCGPlayer then, nobody wants you here. Oh, quit bawwwing just because I'm right. Also, it's of note that TCGPlayer is equally bad, at least in all recent data and memory stored. Good card' date=' nowhere near worth comparing to Destiny Draw, good job on again showing me why this site is bad for YGO.[/quote'] Both revolve around sending a card from a specific archetype somewhere to draw two cards. Some Destiny Heroes (Malicious being the main example) work best in the Graveyard, and /Assault Mode monsters can only be Summoned from the Deck. Explain how this card is not worth comparing to Destiny Draw. This card is identical to Destiny Draw in all but two ways. 1) Name2) Filling in the blanks in the clause "Activate by _______ 1 ______ monster...". We do not compare cards based upon any of their identical factors, as comparison requires similitude in difference - in layman's terms, small differences. We compare them when there is difference, but the difference is small. We ignore identical factors, as identical factors are tautology between cards, and thus a waste of time spent thinking. We also ignore irrelevant factors. We contrast cards when the differences are difficult or impossible to reconcile - when the differences are big. The cards' names are irrelevant to any specific effects at this point. This leaves the blanks as the only remaining differences of note. These differences are irreconcilable, as while they do perform prime setup for nearly every card in each group they hail from, those cards they work for are nowhere near each other in terms of consideration. It is because the D Series is not mostly a batch of highlevel monsters with marginally difficult summons that the cards are not comparable; Destiny Draw, as a result, will always be about 500 cuts above. A comparison to Trade-In would likely be a better fit, as the majority of Lv8s have overall premise of Summonability near that of the Slash Busters. When thinking of cards that cannot function without the interaction of others, you by definition must bring those others into the thought process as well. iAmNateXero
Its not very diamond dude friendly. Best part about this card i guess is that it isn't a cost, and if negated your not left just fattening your deck.
