Should we get Disk Commander back in the next format?

of course, they are ripping themselves apart right now most likely because they have to stop tele-dad on the next ban list or no one will think they are doing their job, and if they do, then they get the " player haters" remark again. (I think that might be pun.)

 

I think all they need to do to take away tele-dad's hold is to remove the mali set and reduce him down to 1 again, and the whole thing should come tumbling down to something more fair. he was only being used because he had 6 stars and that meant then you got 2 level 8 synchros without breaking a sweat. kill that right there, and then you kill their opening game.

Stop quoting me. Disk Commander is one of the most debatable and borderline cards on the list. Granted, he's blatantly 3-or-0 (unless we consider him broken with and only with Inferno Reckless Summon and Symbols of Heritage, which would make him 3-or-0-or-2, but that just seems silly), so suggesting that he be put at 1 is very Andrew, but that doesn't mean that suggesting the unbanning of Disk Commander is stupid enough to warrant no more response than "Andrew topic". Unless we ban Monster Reborn, Fear Monger, Limit Reverse, Graceful Revival, Zombie World, and probably a couple of other cards I'm forgetting, I don't think unbanning Disk would be a good idea.

He turns those otherwise fair cards into a ridiculous source of draw power. In the case of Limit Reverse, he can even be disposed of on your turn by simply shifting him to defense, so that he can be used again.

 

In a good format, except with Disk back. The top deck would obviously be a Monarch deck that used 3 copies each of the disk revivals, and simply tributed off the disk on the following turn for a Monarch. You think that's even remotely fair?

Why of course that's fair. And TeleDAD/JD decks would dominate even more.

I think you get the point. Banning cards don't mean we can unban others. Disk is rediculous it's worse than pot of greed. Easily seachable / dumpable and has an insane number of ways to get sp summoned from the grave. It's easily the most abusable card in the game after cyber stein.

The question is whether running him and placing him in the graveyard, combined with the relatively low speeds and small numbers of good targets that Limit Reverse and Angel Lift have and the deck dedication needed to use him effectively, is sufficient to balance out the draw power that Disk provides.

 

He's banworthy, but it's not like Andrew is asking if we could have Chaos Sorcerer at 1 or something utterly preposterous like that.

That sums it up quite nicely.

 

I'd LIKE Disk Commander to be unbanned so I can use it, but I don't think it would be good for the game at all. It just provides too much draw power. Especially in a Meta with Zombie World, Zombie Master, Mezuki, Book of Life, Monster Reborn, Graceful Revival, Destiny Hero - Fear Monger, and Limit Reverse.

Disk Commander should never be unbanned. Look at Zombie World + Zombie-Type revival cards and you should find your answer.
