Judgement Dragon: -10/10 (this is the definition of EPIC FAIL)

You fail big time kid. Learn what Lightsworn does. Actually. Learn to suck less at the game.

DaD' date=' hands down. You get to special summon a monster and by removing 1 of the 3 DARK monsters in your grave, you can take out a card of your choice. And you can take out 3 cards in one turn. Not only that but if the monster removed has an effect that activates while out of play, this starts another combo, all in one turn!!!! Judgement Dragon needs 4 DIFFERENT "Lightsworn" monsters in the grave and you gotta pay 1000 lifepionts to destroy ALL cards, even your own. Plus you lose 4 cards of your deck, ruining the game lan for yourself, meaning you just helped your opponent by doing a 2-1 combo! DaD is good in ALL decks and Judgement Dragon needs to be in one themed deck to put it at it's full potential!

Score----Dark Armed Dragon: 10/10 (EPIC WIN to the highest degree.)

Judgment Dragon's milling effect isn't a bad thing. Especially not in Lightsworn Decks

Judgment Dragon' date=' as I stated earlier, is not bannable, and should be unlimited.

And here I was thinking we were making progress on the Judgment Dragoon topic when, after an entire bloody year, Quiff finally got it through his skull that Judgment Dragoon deserves the banhammer.

Judgment Dragoon

Laughably easy activation condition that just lets a luck-based deck make sackier wins than ever. Final Destiny. 3000 damage. Removal bait.

You're missing the whole "themed" part. It's not like you can just splash Judgment Dragon into any Deck and have it work successfully. DARK is not a theme; it's an Attribute; an Attribute with at least ten times more card choices than those of Lightsworn, making it much easier to use.

This kid wants Gyzarus banned but balks at killing Judgment Dragoon because it's "themed".

Yes, it requires support. The thing is: most cards do. You can't just splash, say, Demise into a random deck and make it work properly; you need deck dedication, running Ritual spells, Ritual searchers like Manju, Vanillas, other OTK components like Doom Dozer and Black Bomber, and so on.

The fact that Judgment Dragoon can only be used in one of the least skilled decks ever created merely strengthens the argument that it has no purpose beyond pulling lucksack victories from nowhere without requiring any mental processing that couldn't be accomplished by a banana peel in a coma.

Demise, King of Armageddon had an OTK. By banning a piece to the OTK, it became less powerful. Judgment Dragon isn't part of an OTK. Regardless of Lightsworns lucky draws, Judgment Dragon isn't banworthy because it requires serious Deck Dedication.

3 Judgment Dragoon = OTK. Semi-Limit time, m i rite?

You are assuming that deck dedication necessarily implies balance. This is a false assumption.

Judgment Dragoon has one und prezisely vun purpose: namely, to create skillless lucksack wins from nowhere. Such a card is a negative influence upon the game.

Even at 2 Judgment Dragon is able to set up an OTK. JD + JD + Lumina + Lumina or any LS with at least 1000 ATK for that matter = OTK.

after an entire day of relaxing and discusing data about the cards with some friends.. I came to the conclution that I'll just change my mind and accept DAD as a bannable card, and judgement dragon as a not as powerful and useful but still overpowered card for the game...

after reasoning and taking all points into account....

there is something that bothers me... I heard that the gold series 2 will have judgement dragon, dark armed dragon, and gold sarcophagus as the main cards of the booster pack... :(

following my reasoning that is a really potensial reason to get all 3 banned soon afterwards sinse they are going to be easier to get (and gold sarcophagus which is limited even with like 7 official english ones in existense :S ) (by the way.. I have a japanese gold sarcophagus :) )

Im still voting for DAD sinse as stated by lots of people above and backed up with data, is superior....

Konami will probably leave Dark Armed Dragon and Judgment Dragon alone so the packs will sell. Then again, Breaker was in Gold Series 1 while it was banned at the time so who knows.

And both cards are overpowered and bad for the game. Dark Armed Dragon is more overpowered than most currently banned cards and the vast majority of the banned cards deserve to be banned. Judgment Dragon is basically an easy to summon theme-specific half price Demise with 3000 ATK. If a 3000 ATK field nuker isn't banworthy then what is banworthy?

The lack of logics here is astounding.

It's obvious that the DARK.dek variants' dominance over the format is no accident - but the playability of a Deck does not make a particular card superior over another.

DAD has a superior Attribute; Allure compatibility is more conducive to winning than Honest compatibility, in the case of monsters that have 2800 ATK or more and can kill Colossal out of battle.

JD wins on every other front, except perhaps Level, which has infinitesimal importance but leans toward DAD on grounds of being Syncable for Lv8s. The front of Unconditional Summon Condition is obvious; it's much easier to have 4 (insert either name group or attribute) monsters of different names than to have precisely 3 (insert either name group or attribute). It's a more raw deal to be stuck with one name group than to be stuck with one attribute, but even then, JD still won't be making itself a dead-outside-of-useforcost card as often.

It's not single cards that win games, matches and tournaments. It's decks in tandem w/ players; topics like this are effective wastes of bandwidth, hence why it's smart to let me come by and effectively lay down how wrong some opinions are.

Depends on your definition of "superior". Forcing you to run a Deck which is obviously worse than another is no advantage. REDMD would likely be among the best cards around if it revolved around DARK monsters instead of Dragon-Type monsters.

Being Trade-Inable is better than being able to Tune with Level 1 Tuners in my books. It loses on which Decktype it's forcing, it's a huge factor.

Exactly my point. Decks.

"My definition"?

No one person or group of people ever have their own definitions, bar for the sake of argumentative construction. In reality, definitions are in the dictionary, and the better the dictionary, the more spot-on its definitions are.

Seeing how the OED is the closest thing the English language has to a bureau that manages what is and isn't part of the language, everyone is beheld to the OED's definition outside of all argumentative constructs in the academia.

So, superiority in effect boils to the single card's contributions to the win rate. JD in effect contributes more than DAD; DAD just has other friends in its deck that take high positions on that same list, whereas JD has itself all alone.

That said, your comment falls flat, seeing how REDMD would be worse than these two even if it worked with Attributes and these two only worked with name groups or types. The ability to ensure a direct shot while simultaneously making a gamut of your opponent's cards worth less (if not worthless) brings you much closer to winning than simply reviving a card.
