Dark
I am planning on restarting Sapphire (yeah, topic change), and I needed the best possible team. I don't want to speedrun it, but I hate level grinding. I don't want to use any legends as I was planning on migrating them to SoulSilver via PalPark. Remember that it IS Sapphire, meaning I need something to deal with Kyogre. I definitely wanted to use Torchic as my starter. There are 2 good Water-types and 2 good Grass-types that I could potentially use that are not starters, and Hoenn doesn't have any competition for Fire-types. Except Magcargo or Torkoal. But that is mid-game, and I'd rather have a Fire/Fighting type who'd help me throughout the game. So Blaziken is definitely a yes. And I definitely need a Water-type. So I was thinking Lotad, since you can get it early-game in Sapphire (Route 102, iirc), and it evolves using a Water Stone (but where will I find one?). It's bulky, it's dual Water/Grass type, and it will really help against many gyms (particulary Roxanne and Flannery). If I don't choose that, I was thinking MAYBE Pelipper. I don't really like it, but it can deal with the first and second gym REALLY well. Whatever. In terms of a Grass-type, if I use Ludicolo, I have a free slot here. If I use Pelipper, I was definitely thinking Breloom. But another Fighting-type is redundant. It does have Spore and some nice Grass moves, so it's a good consideration. Gardevoir is not a bad choice, but I'd be totally copying Wally. xD MAYBE Manectric for a mixed attacker, I'm not entirely sure yet. It makes a good Electric-type, but that doesn't help me much since it only gets coverage on Flying (Water is covered by Grass), and I can just spam items on Winona and beat her with something else. Depending on who I have access to first, I want to use either Flygon or Salamence. Salamence is obviously better in-game, but I'm pretty sure Vibrava is available, and Shelgon just sucks BALLS. I won't be using Absol this run; sorry. D: So my planned five Pokemon are: Blaziken, Ludicolo, Flygon, Gardevoir and free slot. The sixth will be a moderately high-leveled HM slave to heal my Pokemon during gym battles or the Elite Four. Early-game I will be taking 3 or 4 Zigzagoon with me to rack up some Rare Candies so I can avoid grinding or send them over to SS. Someone help me with my team, because I might have serious problems if I can't get a Water Stone ASAP. And I have a free slot. D:< All four of my Pokemon are Hoenn, so I want my fifth to be a Kanto or Johto Pokemon. I was THINKING Skarmory, but it is better to go the hyper-offense route on runthroughs of any Pokemon game. So, someone help. D:
Eury
You get a Water Stone in the Abandoned Ship or you give a Blue Shard to that guy by Mossdeep. For the 5th slot maybe Crobat, Skarmory, Magneton, Electrode, Dodrio, Muk, Weezing, Raichu, Girafarig, Donphan, Heracross, Pinsir, Rhydon, Lanturn or Kingdra if you're trying to stick within Kanto/Johto. Blue Lightning
Ok' date=' I was wrong.http://www.serebii.net/index2.shtml It was grass/fire/water. Meh, the fire one doesn't look bad so I'm happy. The water ones doesn't look that good though.[/quote'] I knew it was a pig... I was right on both :) I just hope Grass becomes uber cool, it has potential.
Phantom Roxas
The Grass one actually looks the best. Fire is pretty bad, but Water isn't as bad as I expected.

Magneton sounds REALLY enticing, but I don't think I can get that until New Mauville, which is a bit late-game for me. Heracross and Lanturn are wonderful choices, but Lanturn gets repeated Water coverage with Ludicolo (and they are both special attackers, as well), while Heracross is rare (iirc) and adds a third Flying-type weakness. Eury
The Pokemon I listed except for Crobat, Skarmory, Muk, and Weezing aren't exactly early. Magneton and Electrode are New Mauville, Dodrio, Raichu, Girafarig, Donphan, Heracross, Pinsir, and Rhydon are all at the Safari Zone. Lanturn isn't available until you get Dive, and I believe Kingdra is only available around Pacifidlog and the surrounding Routes. Skarmory is by Fallarbor, Crobat is well...everywhere, Muk and Weezing are both in that Fire Path place. I personally would go with Magneton or take the repeated Water coverage and get a Lanturn. Heracross technically counts as a 4th Flying Weakness since he's x4 weak against Flying.
Tentacruel
Ok, so I've never really EV trained a Pokemon before cause I've never had anyone to fight but I just found out you can do random internet battles on PBR without friend codes so I've decided to make a team soooo.... What's better on a Bellyzard, Adamant or Jolly? And should I give the Bellyzard substitute, or run a ninjask with substitute?

What's better on a Bellyzard, Adamant or Jolly? And should I give the Bellyzard substitute, or run a ninjask with substitute?[/quote'] If you are passing Speed from Ninjask to Charizard, run Adamant. The extra power will somewhat help 2HKO Bulky Waters. Since most leads don't carry Taunt (except Aero, iirc), you can run Sub/Protect/Baton Pass/X-Scissor for your Ninjask. I'd normally recommend Swords Dance, but your Charizard has Belly Drum anyways, unless you want to stat up to +6 Speed and +6 Attack, pass a Sub to Charizard, and sweep with 3 moves + Sub. That's viable, but people will realize your set-up with Ninjask pretty quick, and you only need to send 2 or 3 Speed Boosts to 'Zard. EDIT: Blazekin, Gardevoir, Ludicolo, Magneton and Flygon? Well, as soon as I get Surf after Norman (and the first five Gym Leaders do not need Magneton usage), I am pretty sure Abandoned Ship AND New Mauville open up at the same time. So that's fine. I'll need to find the earliest route I can get Vibrava. Should I use my Master Ball on Latias or Rayquaza? I was thinking Rayquaza, because I am not even sure I want to capture Latias, and I'd rather have a good nature on Rayray instead of having a set nature for Latias. Eury
Jolly for more speed. If it has full ATK EVs, Belly Drum will provide more than enough ATK. I don't know about Substitute though.
Dark
I swept someone with a Magmortar on Shoddy. It was actually kind of funny, because they forgot the thing could learn Thuderbolt, and were o_O when I got to 2HKO their Starmie. And iirc, I outsped it after Salac. Eury
I came across one of those in the Battle Tower...damn thing was pissing me off. Good thing I had Rhyperior. =D Just a random question, is Magnet Rise good on Dialga?
Dark
Well... no. It's a waste of a moveslot. It can usually survive one Earthquake, seeing as it doesn't have crap HP and DEF stats, and it'd much rather use its moveslots for attacking, since it makes a somewhat potent mixed attacker. The only thing Magnet Rise is viable on is... Magnezone. So if it is EVd to be faster than Metagross, it traps and kills with no worries.
Eury
Aight. Was just curious. So like, this is Pokemon related so... I need an idea for a Grass/Steel Pokemon. What should it be based on?
Dark
http://www.smogon.com/smog/issue8/wsc Scroll down to Ursaring Retype and look at the first one. It looks more like Rock and Grass, but you can somehow base your idea on that.
Eury
Eh. I kind of want to base it off of a Tortoise or something, but there's already 7 Pokemon based off of Turtles/Tortoise's that I remember: Bulbasaur line, Turtwig line and Torkoal. .Frostpaw
My AR won't let me make game saves of SS. This sucks. It says WARNING: NO GAME CARD DATA FOUND. Help? Dark
You have to enter the game into your AR, because it doesn't recognize it seeing as it's probably old and this is a new game.
