Hooray, it's my favorite card to discuss!

Justify keeping this card at 0 in a stable, well constructed environment.

Also, just discuss in general.

There is no need for 'Cathedral of Nobles' to be at 0, unless they unban 'Exchange of the Spirit' and all it's draw cards, which won't happen. ^^

But I guess it's for Exodia, with having 'Jar of Greed', 'Reckless Greed', 'Good Goblin Housekeeping' all that good stuff.

Hey Hikaru, Didnt we discuss this on GameFAQs before? o_O

Still... This card would make a fun Exodia deck :3

And how can it do any damage anyway? I mean the only Traps that are used in the current Metagame have a specific timing to them. Like Mirror Force and Solemn.

This + Scrap Iron Scarecrow = unlimited attack blocking

umm... Scrap Iron Scarecrow doesn't benefit from this card, you can't set it during your opponent's turn and you have no need of activating it during your own turn sinse your opponent won't attack you during your turn....

Even if it were possible to abuse a draw engine involving this' date=' I would find the other elements of the draw engine - namely Royal Magical Library, Accumulated Fortune, and possibly Reckless Greed - far more questionable than this.

Because if Catherdral came back, They would have to limit(I think) Reckless Greed and possibly Accumulated Fortune. Since you could easily chain those Traps together, and get an easy benefit from Assumulated.

The only possible way to justify the ban is that it stops more number of trap draw cards being banned' date='

Not really. I would be incredibly surprised if both Reckless Greed and Accumulated Fortune needed to be banned, and anyone suggesting that Jar of Greed and Legacy of Yata-Garasu would require bans is kidding themselves.

Not to mention the other problem with that logic:

its better to ban 1 card than multiple

Metamorphosis to 0, CyTwin and CyEnd to 3?

oh! I noticed. oh forgive me for that I unconciously thought that set involved "from your hand"... (guess I was tired when I wrote last comment).

well... sinse the topic looks too one sided.. why not discuss this card with its partner?

Effect:If this monster destroys an opponent's monster by battle, that monster is removed from play, and this card gains 500 ATK. If you do not control a face-up "Cathedral of Nobles", this monster is destroyed.

and don't forget Cathedral of Nobles' effect of tributing serket and Cathedral to Special Summon 1 monster from your hand, Deck, or Extra Deck...
