Static
Not much to discuss card wise, guy's solid, basically a Gyzarus that surrenders attack to blow up the cards. However, situational because you need non-tuner's to be spellcasters. I'm not too interested in the actual card's discussion, I know it's good in the right build. This card is a MINIMUM of $20 on Ebay, more anywhere else, and has about a $20-25 trade value. My only question is why the card costs so much if it isn't usable in most decks. Lightsworn generally don't synchro, but I guess you could get it out in them if you did synchro with them, unusable in GB, Blackwings, Anti-Meta, and barely usable in most non-tier decks. It has it's place in Magical Citadel builds, but elsewhere it shouldn't be too popular. I personally went after one for gravekeepers, but that's beside the point. So this is the question: What's keeping the price so high? It's a Super Rare, fact of the matter is that $20-25 for a Super is pretty high. Dark Strike is twice that but he's highly wanted and everyone literally has to have one (three, rather); with this guy it simply isn't that way. Also, although I'm not interested in the strategies with the card, you're more than welcome to discuss anything related to this card whatsoever; if someone could explain any key uses that I'm missing then that would be great too. Static
Works well? I guess' date=' if you think it's worth running and setting the extra card. I actually just looked at this: [img']http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/yugioh/images/e/ec/ArcaniteMagicianAssaultModeCRMS-EN-UR-1E.png[/img] This thing is pretty solid. It's $6 on Ebay. Weather Report - Stand
Your Mudkip sucks,tonisanoob--no, sorry, that was going too far. You know, the funny thing with THIS Assault Mode set in particular is that once you use up your counters for the original, then you can summon your Assault Mode when your opponent tries attacking or destroying your face-down Assault Mode, Activate card. Then you have MORE spell counters and can blow up the field AGAIN. And if you run more than one of the Assault Mode version(unlikely) you can wait for her to die(it's a girl) and then re-summon the original, and blow up MORE. Then you could repeat the aforementioned strategy if you do, in fact, run more than one of the Assault version(which is still kinda unlikely). I'd say it's one of the best Assault combos out there. On a side-note, in a proxy deck I run for training(if you could call it that; I use proxies since I gots no munny. So there), this is incredibly easy to summon. Just use Instant Fusion on Musician King and summon Arcane Apprentice. INSTANT SYNCHRO SUMMON, AND YOU GET ASSAULT MODE ACTIVATE. BAM, 1st TURN COOLNESS. The Assault Mode/ for this card is... I wouldn't call it useless, but there are better options. If you think about it, for Arcanite Magician Assault Mode to be played, you need to run that specific trap and that extra spot in your Deck (the assault mode monster) that won't work with anything else in your Deck,if just just don't run the "/AM" and only run the Synchro Version, you will find that the cards that work with Arcanite Magician (the Synchro) will also work well with all the Deck itself if done properly and not having a couple of situational cards bothering your draws.Speaking of its effects. I'm going to assume You DO realise that the Assault Mode sounds cooler because it destroys all of your opponent's field for 2 Spell Conters on it, but its really an unneded advantage. The Synchro version doesn't need to use its Spell Counters on itself, it can borrow from anywhere on your side of the field. You will MOST of the time destroy your opponent's field without having it loose ATK. and Spell Power Grasp is better than Pitch Black Power Stone by the way, because:-its a Spell Card, giving you more Spell Counters from other card's effect from your set-up-it calls another copy of itself from your Deck, keeping your card advantage as a +0 and thinning your Deck.-its equally fast (once per turn) That is why the Assault Mode version is cheaper xD. is there anything else to say? EDIT ON TOPIC: As to why the card is still expensive:I guess the card is just awesome where it belongs to. Its something similar to why Judgement Dragon is so expensive if he only works on Lightworns OR why REDRUM is so expensive if he only works well in a Dragon Deck. ^-^"

werewolfjedi
play arcanite in a spellcounter deck, and watch their field just disapear in a single move. this card in the right deck can ROCK YOUR WORLD. it can be more powerul than DAD in terms of pure destructive power. play it with magical exemplar, and just notice how powerful he is. however, he does not work well in other decks (ones that don't focus on spell-counters.), as he loses his atk power. I have, as of yesterday I think, however found out why he costs so much.
