Captain Lawless
Truth is a little... uneducated? But we still got players like Latoma and Nicnac, they know a bit more about ygoz. You'll see a lot of terrible, awful things there you can never unsee. Like...random Kaiba decks, Jaden fans, stupid players who don't know the rules and stupid players who don't know sh*t about stuff like you posted. GenzoTheHarpist
A non 3 or 0 list would probably work on the philosophy that cards should never be banned, that it's better to limit it and every card related to it until a combo is impotent then it is to ban even one card. Guest
These people have never heard of 3/0 before in their lives, and you declared it to be absolute truth in two lines of text that summarized a couple of its conclusions (without giving any explanation for how they were reached, what assumptions were made, what they entail, and so forth), then countered their arguments - which, given their assumption that the banlist is their to either punish or help decks, were perfectly valid - by making statements like "But they don't NEED to be hurt" that people could only understand if they were already familiar with 3/0 logic. When that somehow didn't magically make them all agree with you, you decided that mindless flaming was the best solution. Naturally, you did all of this neither to educate the locals (unless this was your intention, in which case you really suck at it) nor to simply troll (unless this was your intention, in which case you really suck at it) but rather to reinforce your own ego by "proving" that you are better than them. Remember that, with the exception of the original creators of 3/0 theory and those who developed it independently (both of which are low in number), players, regardless of how intelligent they are (again, unless they are intelligent enough to develop it independently from scratch), cannot follow 3/0 unless they are first introduced to 3/0 by someone. Hence, using Konamilogic doesn't itself mean that DMU is stupid - what it means is that they just haven't been properly introduced to 3/0 by anyone. The difference between you and them is not necessarily anything more than that you met Atem or someone similar and they did not. As a result, your pathetic attempt to "prove" your intellectual superiority is not only petty but also fundamentally flawed, and the only thing you have succeeded in proving is that you have completely and utterly failed to think any of this through. RyanAtlus
*takes a sip* Personally, I wasn't familiar with 0/3 before, but I understood the advantages of it as I read this. I think that semi-ing is stupid indeed, and that all semis could be easily placed to 1 or 3. Therefore, the concept of 0/1/3 seems more likable to me. But I don't care, and that's possibly why I don't make any sense.
Guest
also 3 or 0' date=' what about limiting things, shurly there is cards that dont hurt at 1, i.e stratos? night assailent?[/quote'] Stratos self-interacts. Night Assailant self-interacts. Recall that 3/0 is based around removing problems from the game when necessary and leaving everything at the highest number possible when no problem exists. While a list position like 1 Night Assailant might on the surface appear to violate 3/0 principles, the problem was never the Night Assailants themselves but rather the combo of Night Assailant + Night Assailant; thus, the decision is not so much "Night Assailant needs to be Limited" but rather "Night Assailant + Night Assailant needs to be banned". Toffee.
ITT: YCM overestimates itself. At least its not GameFAQS, where MetalHyper makes a banlist that has everything at 3, and bans everything in and past Cybernetic Revoloution, except for the Cyber Dragons.Add to it, that topic will get to about 8 pages. How would you do that last one?Make a list of moves that would be illegal? You would accomplish that last one by Limiting Night Assailant. The method used to reach the goal is the same, but the rationale is very different. Most Konamilogic arguments for Limits take the form of "DDWL is too good, it should be limited to 1" or "Lightlords are too good, they should Limit Charge to make them weaker", but the argument here is "Night Assailant + Night Assailant is an unacceptable combo, so it must be dealt with". Think of it this way: in most cases of unacceptable combos, the problem is removed by banning one of its components; for example, you would solve the Gearfried + Elma problem by banning Elma. Here, the problem combo is Night Assailant + Night Assailant, so e solve the problem by banning the second Night Assailant. We're not Limiting Night Assailant so much as banning Night Assailant #2. GenzoTheHarpist
I think Konami should follow the Duel Masters idea of banning combinations of cards. For instance instead of banning elma they could say "You cannot have Elma and Gearfried in the same deck".
Mysty
I think Konami should follow the Duel Masters idea of banning combinations of cards. For instance instead of banning elma they could say "You cannot have Elma and Gearfried in the same deck". That would make the game unnecessarily complicated. There are a few reasons why Duel Masters didn't last. Just banning one of the components of the combo to make a combo dead works very well. GenzoTheHarpist
That's not a complicated system at all. I'd rather ban a combo without banning the legit uses a card may have than ban either one. For instance: Rescue Cat + Airbellum. Both of these cards have legit uses outside of their combo with each other. Much argument has been made over which is more worthy of saving. If the combination rather than the cards was banned, they could retain their other uses.
