RyanAtlus
This topic was inspired by the "Repairing Trading Cards" topic. Personally, I think it can be usefull to buy damaged cards, because they're cheaper than mint cards, and the condition of cards doesn't affect the game, does it? But since most of the players seem to be French and Russian people who only put mint Ulti's and Ghost's in their Deck; discuss.
iAmNateXero
Damaged cards in your deck during tourney time can lead to many Game losses. If anything, Damaged synchros are more profitable. You cant stack an extra deck. Pay less for more I say.

Akira
I hate using even slightly damaged cards, it just really bugs me. I take a lot of pride in my collection and won't trade for or buy anything worse than Near-Mint.

Crimson General
My 1st edition Demise Ultimate looks like it fell in a pool, but in a sleeve it's unoticable... =P I perfer mint cards, they are shiny and clean and stuff...

shadowferret
I like going around collecting cards that people rip up or mangle. And then I use them. I've never gotten a game loss for using my Morphing Jar that was ripped in half before I taped it back up. >_>
iAmNateXero
How can damaged cards lead to game losses? But I do prefer only mint cards for my collection. The feel different from the other cards in your deck and are considered Marked. Marked cards are forbidden from tournaments. Marked cards refer to, and are not limited to... Bent beat and worn cards in the Main and Side deck.Altered Sleeves in the main or side deck.Altered card text.Altered name (does not include misprints, or colored in name.) It means deliberately changing the name of the card.Altered Rarity (often you have to damage the card to do so.)and multi color/ different manufactured sleeves. An example: Mixing White Dragon shields and White player's choice.

This may be because your in an environment where nobody cares, but best believe there are rule sharks out there who would try and get you penalized at every instant at a regional or Jump, or nats. The Crimson King
I am Russian, but I don't necessarily care about the condition of the cards in my deck, as long as they're playable. In fact, I like having to spend less resources to get cards I need.

This can be an unfair advantage.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
Although I prefer my card's mint, I don't mind if I buy cards that are slightly damaged or bent, just as long as it's not totally wrecked (like the picture isn't visible anymore, it has staples over it, etc.) Same thing applies for when I trade with other people
Lazer Yoshi
I always go with the cheapest version. As long as it's in one piece and you can see the card's art / effect clearly, it's good enough for me.

daboss144
IMHO the only times it is acceptable to use damaged cards are: 1)free playing in a non-tournament environment2)when using a card that has not been reprinted from one of the original sets (because it is so difficult to find mint copies)
-Berserker-
My friend uses a Jinzo with a big scar crossing it in tournaments and no one complains as long as it's used inside a sleeve. Is good that no one complains about that because I can use my damaged Coelacanth (It was my first ultra! and I recently noticed the scar! I am sad!) that I will be unable to trade/sell for it's original value even if it's the only one in the country.
Captain Lawless
If you're planning on selling or trading, go for mint, but for playing, less price is always the option.Unless you want to load a deck w/ holos of everything, but then you're being a d!ck about it ...
