OMGAKITTY
Can't everyone just agree that the worst thing about religion is the people practicing it? That's usually why there are problems at all' date=' the idiots who take it too far or just plain abuse it for to their own advantage.Prime example: the whole reason for the war in Halo was because of religion. Or so I used to think, until I realized it was actually politics disguised as religion. Whoa. Just blew your mind, didn't it? Nah, just kidding, I don't expect anyone's mind to be blown by Halo (even though it [i']should[/i] happen because Halo rocks). Anyways, in a totally smooth way of changing the subject away from petty arguments, what do you think of god (or God)? As in the idea of such a being (or Being), and how you would run things if you were god? Also:Religion =/= LogicLogic =/= Godliness This whole post can be summed up by the bridge of Epica's Seif al Din: [align=center]The rudiments have always been misinterpreted during history, despite the good intentions of many disciples who's faithful belief was strong and unswayed. Most leaders interpret the old words to theiradvantage in the attempt of gaining leadership and powerover those unfortunate enough to fall under their maliciousness and manipulative ways. This misuse of trust will forever stain the pages of history, echoing the exploitation and the frailty of decentmen carried away by nurtured rancor... Dark
DoP, I'm just bashing religion. But by you asking these questions, you're kind of ruining it for me. D: Let's talk about the word "religion" itself. Anyone ever misspelt (word?) it?

Dark
Faith isn't about right or wrong. Its about believing in the face of no evidence. So why believe in something when it has no support backing it up and you admit that its possible to be incorrect? That's like me believing in a green-and-pink fat unicorn in the sky who created the universe and we are all his mind-slaves who will subsequently go to hell after reproducing and serving him. Sure' date=' it makes me feel better (not really), but why should I believe in it when I have no actual, decent support to go along with it and I know in my mind that this could be wrong? This may just be me, but I don't like [b']believing[/b] in something, I like knowing something. Everything that is not known (or has no evidence) is simply nothing. It's something that a three-year-old can make up while drawing a picture for art class. It is devoid of meaning.

Dark
I can find numerous amount of loopholes involving religion in general, and they are all passed off by one of the following stupid statements: 1.) "You interpreted (insert religious book) wrong."2.) "It was simply a metaphor."3.) "The original version (not translated) said different things."4.) "People back then didn't have as much knowledge as we do now." ...and by far, the stupidest one: 5.) "NO U"

EDIT: Just to be clear, is this an argument/debate? And if so, what is it actually about? This may just be me, but I don't like [b']believing[/b] in something, I like knowing something. You can't prove whether God (or Gods) exists or not, so why argue over it? Just do what I do; try to be a generally good person and worry about it when you die.
