Realistic Cards

 

I always check this section expecting to see cards with new and creative effects. Needless to say, I am often disappointed as most users just modify an existing effect or stack a single card with 3 or more effects, turning the card's text small and annoying.

 

But what do I mean with "new"? Well, I am referring to effects not seen before or that requires you to perform actions not seen in the Rulebook. A simple example would be: "Discard 1 card to destroy 1 monster on your opponent's field and send it to your Graveyard". As a side note, some cards have this kind of effects, such as Exchange, and both Amazoness Swordmaster and Chain Master, but it would be nice to see more effects like that here in YCM.

 

In the case of Sets, I expect cards that work well together and/or share the same effect, and not a bunch cards with random effects and whose only similarity is their name.

 

Pop Culture Cards

 

I visit this section from Time to Time, but I barely check threads as they are all cards of "Naruto", "Pokemon" and other animes, games or series I have never seen or heard about. I will only check thread with cards of characters I know, and as I mentioned before, I expect them to have innovative effects.

 

Any Other Cards

 

I never see that section as I know what I will find: overpowered, gag cards. I don't care what happens there, but I wouldn't remove the section because those gag cards just must show up somewhere, and I believe no one wants them in neither Realistic or Pop Culture sections.

 

Written Cards

 

This section is of interest for me. As it was previously mentioned by other users, this section is for cards whose proper images are hard or impossible to find. I expect the same quality here as in Realistic section.

 

Card Contests

 

I would like to see more free contests to encourage new good members to participate. I myself hesitate when I see a contest that requires fee because I still have low points/rep and I don't wish to lose them in a contest where I am against more experienced users.

 

OCG and Creativity

 

As I said before, I expect to see innovative effects more than anything. I also consider of good quality cards with short effects that do not shrink the text of the card to the point it cannot be read. If you give a creative effect(s) to a card, but the text is too long, I probably won't like it.

In short:

-Card with 2 or 3 genuine effects or effects that work well together and its text is readable: Good Quality

-Card with 3 or more effects stacked and/or text not readable: Bad Quality
