Jonnyfive
Since the release of Honest as a variant, I'm sure the majority of you have an honest story to tell about Honest. How you used it, how it was used against you, or even how you beat it.My story is that I now run a twilight Zombie deck with a HUGE focus on Malevolent (yeah..I know..but I love Zombies..and I love honest..)I drew 3 Honests, Malevolent, and CotM first hand and was like "yeah buddy"The guy I was going against was running a hero deck (absolute and plasma) and it was damn good...it stomped me first round first turn..I went first, I played CotM and specialed Malevolent and left it at that. then on his first turn he busted out Plasma and took my malevolent with its effect, and MST'd my CotM and I was like "oh no!!!!". He attacked directly for 4300...I thought I was done...and then...I DREW ANOTHER MALEVOLENT. Plasma cancels the effects of monsters on the field so I could still use Malevolent's effect to summon him, he just wouldn't be destroyed for being the only zombie on my side of the field. I attacked and used Honest X3 FTW.then he destroyed me on his next round by getting Gaia, Absolute Zero, and Brionic out in the first 2 turns.... Killey
Actually, this raises a good question. Was Honest a good thing for the metagame? It was good countering darks with this guy and it does help make lower tiered decks like Batteryman more competable. However, with LIGHT being the other heavily favored attribute we ran into the desparities of DARK, LIGHT vs every other attribute. You essentially gave LIGHT monsters a means to win the battle phase no matter what. While great against the metagame involving Darks was it so good for other deck types? -Berserker-
No honest in my city yet. Maybe I'll change that. Someone in internet is offering me Twilight Edition for half the prize I can sell them here. That edition will take like 2 months to reach this corner of the world (last week we got Stardust OVerdrive and Hidden Arsenal), so I can buy the Twilight and sell them at any prize I want... Lightsworns were beastly enough to begin with, and though I don't see most Lightsworn users running honest because the decks are good enough to begin with and simply DONT NEED IT. Azuh
I suppose you'd say valhalla sucked too lol.I only run one' date=' its a life saver if your in a tough spot and its a great opener.[/quote'] Valhalla and Call of the Mummy are too different situational cards. Valhalla is better, for one, its searchable and Fairies love to be Special Summoned from the hand. Zombies on the other hand are most useful in the Graveyard than the hand, plus if played right, Zombies can spawn like crazy making Call quite useless

Oh, and Honest gives Konami an excuse to make a DARK Counterpart. And knowing them, it will decrease the ATK of the Opponent's monster by the ATK of the attack target. Honest is much better than shrink..I don't get the comparison. Essentially, 1 Honest allows your monster to do its full attack as battle damage, while destroying the monster at the same time...you could compare it to shrink..but instead of halving its attack it sends it to zero. The next 2 honest would be like your own monster attacking you directly, one time for each.So essentially if I triple honest with the calculator while it has 3600 against a monster of yours that has 2200, you would take the 3600, then 2200, then 2200 again. 8000 OTK without having to attack with my other monsters. Shrink doesn't do that....

Killey
There becomes the issue with Honest. It can create OTK and reverse kill scenario's without your opponent being able to do anything about it do to how sneaky Honest is. It also contains good defensive stats with 1900 DEF and then has the ability to return itself to your hand to be used offensively. It's just way too good in light based decks and is the ideal tech choice when running a heavy light base. It gives weaker LIGHT decks like FRD's and Batteryman that extra boost but it's just way too good in multiple aspects. The day darks get a Honest countepart is the day Yugioh goes straight to hell. We're pretty close to it right now though.
