Alzeid
Ai' date=' but this thread was apparently made for serious, balanced cards and thus that should be the thread's primary focus: to make the cards serious and balanced. Every card here is "custom" and as such the whole creativity thing applies everywhere. Ah, so that's why you want a "definite" rule. -_- Sorry, given the circumstances (and not wanting to say "you must comment on the effect/balance/whatwillyou"), that's the best solution I got in terms of dealing punishment. >_<[/quote'] Blaaaah!!! *bangs head on wall* Come now, no more headaches. >_<

Is there a reason for closing that thread? o_O Excuse me if this is SPAM <_< but thought it references the Theme in a way xD That thread was locked because it wasn't even close to Realistic, which makes it off-topic in Realistic Cards in the same way that posting a card whose effect is "You win the duel" would be off-topic in Realistic Cards. As for this topic, I support whatever rule gets people who post "Some OCG errors, 8/10" banned fastest, especially if said rule recognizes such posts as the flagrant intentional spamming they are (and OCG as pretty much unnecessary). .Leo
Personally, I prefer Option A, because I hate it when people just post "Some OCG errors, 8/10" and leave. As RC we should actually start reporting this if we see it because for one, we can actually do something and two, it might cut down on the spam. Option A ftw. Shinobi Phoenix
I hope I don't add to any frustration, but isn't commenting for balance and creativity also subjective. You have but to look at how people treat the real game to see that. There's a lot of issues to be had in so volatile and amorphous a topic. For one thing, I do see a problem in that it could backfire and make people afraid to even comment, positively or negatively. For another, sometimes, there really isn't anything on will say about someone work. Mainly if it is good, so either that person doesn't get feedback or he gets empty "yes-man" feedback that doesn't help him because there's nothing to really give but positive reinforcement and what can you do with that and stretch it out 3 lines while not sounding fake. I WILL admit a lot of posts I read come off as almost just post-gouging. Saying something fast, ignoring any changes or parts of the discussion all while waiting for someone else to do the same to you and get mad there wasn't more said. There's also the fear of the "dreaded" TLDR, but I feel in all forms that retardation should be discouraged anyway. Anyway, just as an example of asking if it's correct now, I try to post lately only to help someone word their to how they were intending to make it work while asking them questions to get an understand of what it is they want. Obviously, I'm only talking about those that do need help and not those who have done well on their own. Usually, I'll put some reworded suggestions that fit various ways the card will work depending on which direction they say are taking it. Such as if they make a card they want to work in conjunction with a certain kind of card, but their current wording would cause a Miss Timing, usually I put an example but ask what they really want and just help them get there. I especially do this when I see someone give clearly wrong information or say someone's wording is wrong or bad when it's even the same as what Konami/UDE has used; usually I will cite an RL example to back it up. Originally, I had not planned at all to post my real work here, but lately I've been considering it just to give some people new ideas or inspiration and not look like I'm talking out my behind, but that brings me to my last point of issue. If we're admitting that understanding is just as important as the effect and the wording is only important as a GUIDE (OCG should not be called "official" as it's only a guide and suggestion of wording and even Konami doesn't hold set to one), are we going to have people get in someone's face if someone chooses to use OCG terms in their work since it is still understood what is what. This is the biggest reason I've chosen not to post my work as I'd rather just avoid the trouble but I am an OCG player, so all my work as Demon, Angel, Sub-Type, Release, and Advance Summon, so just in case I'm breaking some rule or expecting trouble from people screaming "OCG Errors!!", I don't post my stuff yet, but was there not a problem before and I'm just paranoid? Anyway, I hope putting it all out there and no one thinks I'm trying to start something just for expressing a concern, I'm already refraining thinking now I can't use Photoshop for my own work and post with Photobucket due to that other thread up now for the few cards I have that wouldn't be an "OCG/TCG" issue. Eibon1307
OK. I'm new here and dont really know much about how to properly phrase OCG. When I made my first two cards I used the question/comment page and a few other things like that listed here. I posted my first and it had a few things wrong, I.E: To high a star count, OCG was off alittle, and things like that. People posted and told me a few things to do to fix it. So my suggestion is that maybe a small group of people should be set aside to monitor new posts in the Realistic thread and then if there is anything wrong, send a comment and nicely suggest how to fix the OCG in a detailed way. That way new members can learn quicker and there wont be any problems. But that's just my opinion.
Guest JoshIcy
@Alzeid: Nyah, I get plenty .-." but for the next week I wont have any from YCM ^^ @Shinobi: Just continue as you are and contribute as you can. Shinobi Phoenix
@Shinobi: Just continue as you are and contribute as you can. You've got the right idea. Not to hijack the thread, but just to ask about my two issues I brought you (since they are basically yes or no questions). Would I get into a problem for using OCG terms in my work (all my personal files are in OCG terms, we're talking 200 pages of work and any proxy I've ever made save the first protoypes) use Demon, Angel, etc? And I seem to be confused on this attachment issue (after reading the rules 3 times) whenever I check threads, I see images in IMG code with their links going back to Imageshack and Photobucket (etc), but they are the ones marked for mod and I prefer not to use the YCM program since I prefer more control over my work. Is it not possible for to post my images from my Photobucket? Sorry to ask here, but since I already brought it up and we're talking about people doing things to get around rules whether they know it or not and I could post up something tonight once I have an answer. Until now, I haven't posted any of my work at all.

But to save yourself harassment, I'd add a disclaimer at the top or bottom of each thread citing sources for it to be true. 2) Attachments are against the rules outright. And before the Imageshack function on the cardmaker, we all used Tinypic or Photobucket to post our cards. I see no issue with it being the same now. Shinobi Phoenix
I thought of something else that could be said/added to this on the same line. People should be putting more feedback into THEIR OWN CARDS and not just posting the card alone and sitting back waiting for the comments to come flying in. If people gave some insight into what they were doing with it, it would help in OTHERS knowing what they were doing and where they were going and trying to help them get there and learn something. For all the people who are just putting bare minimum on comments, there's even MORE who are putting bare minimum on starting the thread by basically just making a thread title and slapping the card down without any insight or further information. Maybe not a rule, but I think it's something that should be strongly encouraged. You can't really expect feedback from others if you aren't putting it out there yourself. Rosstein
I'd say to imply Rule A, but make it more restricted. In other words: Only give a 50% ban to people that solely say "You have some OCG errors". If someone takes the time to actually provide the correct OCG, he/she should not be warned for it. But the other thing is just useless spam and incredibly annoying. Yes, I'm new, but I've seen a lot of these posts already. And I can imagine that they'd piss other people off as well. Most people want OCG fixes, and just because the moderator of the forum cares nothing about OCG, shouldn't impose a rule on everyone that makes it harder to comment on. I think that's part of the problem though. You're assuming most people want so-called OCG fixes. They're talking about giving what is asked for. You shouldn't just assume that is what they want and a lot wantoned "fix" card they didn't understand in the first place trying to make them into something they thought it was because they don't think beyond what they want to see it as. It's not about giving information, it's about giving unwanted information or not even giving information so much as a line of trivial copy-paste and leaving with a feeling of false superiority with another post added to their count. I can tell you personally that I don't give a crap about people "fixing" my cards because A: I put in a lot of work before I even show my stuff so they are already good, B: I have a lot of experience already, so I'm confident in my work, C: when I have questions, the last place I'm asking is here, I have judge friends with the same hobby for that and usually it's more of a ruling thing that I assume my wording for and D: most of the people here who will rush in and scream "OCG error" haven't a clue what they are talking about and have the nerve to try to tell others. It's a real "Physicist, heal thyself" situation at times. That's just me speaking personally, you might catch a typo, but never will be from bad knowledge. Eibon1307
Okay. having been a new member for a week or so I have come across a slightly more annoying problem them OCG.... Older members treating newer members like crap. Not all of us read every single little rule. Some of us are here to have fun, make cards, discuss the TCG, and so on. We dont come here to be insulted, called idiot noobs, and so on. I think along with the OCG issue, some other kindness issues and so on need to be addressed. I dont mean to complain much, but it's very discouraging to be treated this way.
