Is this some joke too old for me to understand or something?

A while ago rook was like: "I think they should ban crystal beasts mostly because its one of the best decks".

On YCM, crystal beasts being one of the best decks is somewhat of a meme

Gotta be victory dragon.

P1: I ATTACK FOR GAME 1 WITH VICTORY DRAGON!!! IF THAT GOES THROUGH I WIN THE MATCH!!!!

P2: How bout I enter the scoop phase of the game? Game 2?

uh, no, you can't scoop while victory dragon is on the field during my turn.

(at least that's the rule we made at our place, since, if your playing traditional, and you actually get this thing to do the finishing blow, you win, end of discussion.

Yeha, daboss, you should feel like an idiot for posting something that is perfectly consistent with the official TCG rules but that violates the house rules that werewolfjedi, another of the top five players on this site, made up.

Aside from victory dragon, I for some reason don't like mirage of nightmare.

I don't see why it's even banned. It mills alot yeah, but it really randomizes your hand too much in my opinion. I bet i'm missing something but I just don't see it.

Before some idiot starts babbling about Dark World monsters, the real problem is that there are a lot of combos that let you draw four cards with Mirage of Nightmare and then blow up Mirage of Nightmare before it can make you discard them.

what, I can't fool around and tell about a houserule for our casual traditionals?

I have to say though, it is the weakest banned card since it was banned just because it annoyed everyone.

btw, for traditionals at least, we just had everyone agree on the WC surrender rules, not until 5th turn, and only on your turn.

You said "uh, no, you can't scoop while victory dragon is on the field during my turn." There is no valid interpretation of this sentence other than that you were criticizing daboss for, uh, playing by the official TCG rules.

Nobody cares about the house rules that you and your friends use when you play Traditional with each other. This topic is not about the house rules that you and your friends use when you play Traditional with each other. Why on earth would you think it at all useful to post about the house rules that you and your friends use when you play Traditional with each other?

(Hint: The answer is that you're a moron.)

Victory Dragon and scooping rules? It's pretty unfair to just give up the second Victory Dragon hits the field. You should concede the match rather than moving on to game 2.

Also:

I'd say Tsukuyomi is one of the weakest banned cards. I clearly understand how it presents a problem' date=' but compared to most of the banned cards, it seems underintimidating.

Book of Moon is also technically a -1. Tsukuyomi reuses itself by returning to the hand. Flip effects can be spammed like crazy, especially ones such as Needle Worm and Morphing Jar. With Book of Moon and Book of Eclipse already allowing such shenanigans in Empty Jar, Tsukuyomi could be either a tremendous asset to the deck, or be the bane of most other decks. I recall if being banned alongside Time Seal, because of the Yata-Lock substitute of Time Seal, Mask of Darkness, and Tsukuyomi. Even so, it's one of the cards on the banlist that never quite struck me as truly dangerous or advantage-giving like most of the others.

Spells are some of the most powerful cards in the game. Magician can retrieve one via a Flip Effect, and like my comment about Empty Jar before, this could be a problem, depending on the card retrieved. It could allow reuse of valuable cards, like Heavy Storm, removing some of the "Feel free to overextend, Heavy's gone" thoughts, but I'm still a little uncertain about the idea of unbanning it.

tsukuyomi also takes up your normal summon in order to book of moon. thats pretty costly. a fair balance imo. especially since book is at 3, no one really cares.

mof is too slow to be reliable. the only maindeck worthy flip effect monsters in this era are ryko and jar, really. maybe a few other more obscure ones. mof would probably be added to that list, but ryko and jar are already pretty over powered. really it's their flip effect speed that makes them fair by any means.

i forgot where i was going, but mof is too slow to be broken, tsuku takes up your normal summon. blah.

Victory Dragon needs a ruling:

"If your opponent surrenders the Duel while 'Victory Dragon' is face-up on the field' date=' you can inflict a falconpawnch directly to your opponent's face. This effect cannot be negated."

[/quote']

fix'd.

Victory Dragon is less broken than Obelisk. Which (I don't know if you noticed) isn't at all broken. Did anyone ever actually win a Match with its effect, or did they just ban because it's stupid.

My runner-ups would be Tsukuyomi or Time Seal. Tsukuyomi would be really fun even at 1 (wurm tekh). Time Seal is annoying, but there are two versions of each @ 3:

Drop Off

Drastic Drop Off

If anyone says deck-thinning, they are automatically death'd. Time Seal is better than Drop Off, but Drastic is a Spell Speed 3 and can discard a card that's been searched, too.

fine, whatever, I won't talk about my area in posts then anymore, or fool around, or try to explain what I mean then.

Of course' date=' many cards that will obviously not be chosen are not there.

And, of course, you leave out the blatantly obvious answer that would have gotten the most votes by far, leaving in some of the ones that won't get votes in their place. -_________-
