Hey, I didn't know where to post this but I am returning to YGO after a couple years. From the recommendation from a friend I bought 3 Machina structure decks.

 

I was wondering though about Boosters. Where should I start? Soo many have been released since I stopped buying.

 

I am looking to build a deck. Maybe Sabers or another good archetype. Not too familiar with new cards.

 

 

Should I buy a Booster box?

 

Which box?

 

Stick to packs?

Since you already have 3 machina mayhem's you already have quite a deck by itself. Use it to duel people and find out types of deck builds and see which one you want to stick with. While you work on other decks, you already have quite a competition ready deck.

 

If you need other cards, just buy singles as people have already said. If you want to buy packs, I suggest waiting for the next Gold Series to come out. Plenty of great cards in there to abuse, and its likely you can get started on Blackwings with that set as they are reprinting a lot of them.

Well, here are the list of the meta decks this format to help you decide what to make:

 

Tier 1 (Best tier, obv)

Blackwings

Infernitites (these are too expensive though...)

Frog FTK (this is really cheap!)

 

Tier 2

GigaVise OTK Plants (these are amazing if done correctly)

Quickdraw Plants/Quickdraw variants

Flamvell variants

 

Tier 3

Lightsworns (not worth the monet any more)

Gladiator Beasts

Monarchs

 

These are the meta decks this format. Just select one that you wish to make, and I may make you a decklist for you to follow. To make the deck, just buy singles off eBay or somewhere or you could trade cards obv. Hope this helped

That tier list has way too much personal opinion and not enough backing facts...it doesn't add up to what occurred at the recent YCS at all.

 

Blackwings didn't do crap at the first YCS or the last SJC. X-Sabers performed better than Blackwings lately overall and you don't have them even listed...

Whoops, sorry. Did forget Gadgets. You haven't seen MY GigaVise deck have you... GB and LS are still really good, but GigaVise, done right and with TSHD cards, is amazing.

1) T1.5 ruins the point of the tier system. If there is a tier 1.5 deck it should be tier 2 and everything else should move a tier down. And I don't think that gadgets are that good, even though I play them.

 

2) GBs get 5/32 from the top spots in the YCS. They deserve their T2 status.

 

3) GigaVise is trash. It has topped only 2-3 regionals and it has never done anything notable at a National or a JUMP. It is just hype.
