Disc. why the first 4 cards have no place in a machina deck, and why the last one is only good for Fortress discard. A friend of mine doesn't understand that, and I wish to bring the light...So, GO YCM, GO!

Its amusing that half the Machina cards are useless. I think only Peacekeeper, Gearframe and Fortress are the only worthwhile. The rest are mainly for getting Force out and they're too slow and waste space.

Force doesn't even have any useful abilities of its own. Its just a huge beatstick. At least Fortress has defensive abilities (forcing the opponent to discard if targeted) and counter abilities (by destroying 1 card if it is destroyed by battle). The fact that it can easily be Special Summoned from both the Hand and Graveyard by discarding a high level Machine (or two lower leveled ones, including itself) make it a million times better.

Edit: That's right (to iHop in the next post), I guess you could include Force just to have discard fodder for Fortress. Its ironic and amusing at the same time.

Well...Soldier's okay, at best, since it can Special Summon a Fortress from the hand, but it's not that good, regardless. And I suppose you COULD make them work using the Machine Frontline or whatever it's called to summon the weaker monsters when stronger ones die. Defender is pointless except to seek Covington. Sniper is...okay, kind of, but overall pointless in a Machina deck.

Force's best use is a discard for Fortress, then summon Phantom of Chaos, absorb its effect and tribute for the four Machina. But that means you have grave set up, removes most Solidarity usage from the deck, is still slower than Gadgets, and...that's pretty much it. 4600 ATK is cool, though.

I used a Machina Deck in WC10 before they were cool. I didn't have a great card pool to choose from, and I used it with a monster-stuffed deck. Sniper is decent just for the ATK, and Soldier is lulzy when you happen to have Fortress in your hand.

Honestly, though, I don't even see Force as usable even for the Fortress discard. I can't speak to the modern Machina Gadgets, but I usually Special Summoned it from my hand, using it and 1 other monster as fuel. Even if it's in your Graveyard, discarding 2 Machines isn't that hard of a cost, especially with Gadgets in the mix. Otherwise it's a COMPLETELY useless card.

Here's your solution. Does your friend actually use Machina Mayhem? If not, he should get it and duel with it a few times. Let's see how many games he wins with it. Or how many times he summons it.

Machina Force is a fun PoC target.

It's a Monster Reborn/Call of the Haunted for Fortress.

And, before all the kewler Machinas came out, I ran a Deck that summoned Machina Force every duel.

But, then again, that was when I actually listened to Pojo.

If Machina Force were summoned like Valkyrion and Commander Covington weren't needed, Force would be actually playable for more than just for PoC and Fortress ditch.

YEa' date=' but it has 4600 ATK, can bet blueeyes so its good [/yugiohoverlord']

Useless card is useless.

Also, why the hell is the first post reported?

I didn't report it, but I'm guessing it's because the thread title doesn't have Covington or Machina in it.

Thing is, Konami likes to "experiment" with its bossbonus monsters and make it more of a challenge to summon said card.

So they could "experiment" with making a really high ATK monster require very tough summoning conditions, 1000 Life Points to attack, and a positive effect that only brings you back to a worse position you were in before you summoned it?

[general rant about Konami's stupidity in making Judgment Dragon and/or Judgment Dragon's picture]

He's going to buy 2 more SDMM (he has one).

You've dueled him' date=' right? How often does he summon it? And how often does it walk into a trap?

[/quote']

Well, he literaly just started playing. You can't really have much of a deck with 40 cards from one SDMM and a starter deck.

Then tell him the all-powerful Dr. Cakey showers disapproval and mockery upon his soul. That usually works.

And ask him if he thinks Judgment Dragon is bad because it will mill Sakuretsu Armor.
