So after thinking of Cloudians and discussing failed support with a friend l wondered what you guy's opinions on Summon Cloud was.

Also, discuss why Konami just threw away an awesome idea that could have easily been explosive with more support.

Technically, they are receiving support, it's just not direct support unfortunately.

I mean look at Archlord Kristya, Vahalla Hall of the Fallen, Moray of Greed, and the Heralds. Not direct support, but it gives Cloudians more of an edge and opens a lot more play styles.

I just want to point out that Summon Cloud is much better than it has been made out to be. Normally, it's identical to Water Hazard, but it can also work as a Cloudian Monster Reborn. It's basically a mix of Water Hazard and Miracle Fertilizer. The problem with it, of course, is that Special Summoning a Cloudian doesn't give it Fog Counters. Of all the problems with Cloudians, that detail is probably the one that ruins them the most.

Cloudians are so funking annoying -_- I had to beat a Cloud deck 3 times to get TDGS in WC 2010 and it was so terribly hard >_< I only managed to win the 3rd duel cause I drew Ryko in the nick of time when they had Eye of the Typhoon out -_-

Cloudians did have alot of potential though. I blame the fact that many people have completely forgotten about GX.

I didn't have it at the time -_- I mainly bought the packs from Tactical Evolution onward.

Cloudians are fun to use. I used them and they have alot of potential. Too bad Konami isn't releasing any direct support for this archtype anymore.

That's why every Cloud deck you see these days are just mirrors of each other. They all run Spirit Barrier/Sanctuary in the Sky to avoid damage and pack in alot of negation cards to prevent destruction of said cards.

Cloudians used to be fun to me, but now they're just old and more of the same.

They could have been Meta if Konami released better direct support for them. Like you stated, there is no more originality in Cloudian Decks because their support ended at Light of Destruction. I say that all Archtype monsters & support should continue until about 5 different sets minimum.

It isn't impossible to be more original with Clouds. Such as Smoke Ball spam, or a Deck that focuses more on Fairy &/or Water Support (Zero Clouds?)

You would be surprised how many Cloudian Duelists run these Decks. One Deck theme (Cloudian Turbo) was hit hard because of the banning of COSR, making that deck inconsistent today (Possibly one of the only creative cloudian decks)

Clouds are gaining support, l never noticed that...

Anyway, yes, Clouds are one of the most annoying archetypes beside gadgets, and Summon Cloud really isn't bad. The point of it is to ensure the next Cloudian gets it's effect off. l'm a little sad you guys missed that...

They are probably one of the hardest and skill oriented decks out there too, considering you have to make EVERYTHING count, and the deck isn't super easy to make. That's why l love them.

But that also contributes to their unpopularity.
