My March 1st 2011 List
TT is balanced at 3? Are you 3 years of age!? The overextension argument is flawed, because it can be used even when your opponent has not overextended.
In which case, it's just simple 1-for-1 removal (or a -1 if you happen to have something on the field). Do you have problems with simple 1-for-1 removal?
It can be used to stop any key summon, as well as a swarms, and also destroys face-downs.
Key Summons: If a deck is reliant on only one card to win and will automatically lose if that card is not summoned, then that deck deserves to lose.

Swarms: Good.

Face downs: So?

You do know this is a fictional list of stuff this guy wants to happen, right?

Forbidden:

- Dark Hole (from limited) Probably.
- Monster Reborn (from limited) Probably.
- Cold Wave (from limited) Maybe, but we'll have to see how it does this format.
- Future Fusion (from limited) Eh, I doubt it. Cards rarely get randomly banned, and Future Fusion doesn't seem to perform exceptionally well to merit banning.
- Rekindling (new) Straight to a ban? I doubt it. Limiting maybe first.
- Torrential Tribute (from limited) ...I hope not. It's not bannable.
- Mirror Force (from limited) Mirror Force has been unbanned for years and as far as I can tell, Konami knows that having one Mirror Force is extremely good for the game. It should not be banned
- Return from the Different Dimension (from limited) Hm? Why? Macro/Removal decks aren't that big at the moment, so I don't see this being an issue enough to ban it.
- Call of the Haunted (from limited) Ban Call AND Reborn? I doubt it. They unbanned them one at a time and I don't see both of them needing to get hit.
- Morphing Jar (from limited) Possible, but very unlikely.

Limited:

- Judgment Dragon (from semi-limited) This card deserves banning, but Lightsworn must not be very popular because another banlist has left it alone. I can see this happening.

Semi-Limited:

- Infernity Launcher (from limited) God, I hope not. Launcher is broken. It should either be banned or stay limited. No need to add a second to the game now.
- Infernity Barrier (new) This is stupid. Why Semi? If it's a problem (which it's not), it'll get limited, not semi-ed.
- Black Whirlwind (from limited) Isn't this a step backwards?
- Charge of the Light Brigade (from limited) Again, I ask: Why semi?
- Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner (from limited) I don't know about that...
- Mezuki (from limited) Possible, but not a good idea.
- Infernity Archfiend (new) Not limited? Why semi-ed? If it's a problem at 3, but not bad enough to be limited, the card is usually left alone. Launcher is the bigger problem, and 2 Archfiend instead of 3 won't diminish the problem if Launcher is put at 2.

No Longer On List:

- Gold Sarcophagus (from semi-limited) Okay.
- Magical Stone Excavation (from semi-limited) Okay
- Chain Strike (from semi-limited) Chain Burn does not need the consistency.
- Bottomless Trap Hole (from semi-limited) Okay.
- Mind Crush (from limited) Er...I don't think so. Mind Crush is still a powerful card that should not be allowed in multiples. Least of all bumped to 3.
- Ultimate Offering (from semi-limited) Okay.
- The Transmigration Prophecy (from limited) I dont see this being a problem.
- Snipe Hunter (from semi-limited) Possible.
- Demise, King of Armageddon (from semi-limited) I don't like it. We dont need the Demise OTK format again.
- Necro Gardna (from limited) Not sure either way.
- Tsukuyomi (from forbidden) NO! Tsukyomi is too abusable, putting it at 3 would be stupid.

- Future Fusion (from limited) lolwut? You clearly dont know the combos this card can pull off.
To bad the combos use other broken cards that are still broken with out without this.

Also, you don't keep broken cards around, it's that simple. If a deck dies because they don't have a broken card they should be all means die. Hell, in a good format BW and LS won't need BWW and JD, they will still be perfectly playable. And just because a broken card isn't seeing play doesn't make it any less broken.

I'm still confused on why Tsukuyomi is banned in the first place, besides being able to recycle Flip Monsters. Is there some looming OTK im missing?
Not everything banned is because of OTK or FTKs. Believe it or not, some cards are just abuseable or broken in their own right.

Tsukyomi was banned alongside Time Seal. It comboed with Mask of Darkness and Time Seal/Drop Off. It's a reusable Book of Moon, letting you continually reuse the effect of cards like Mask of Darkness, Morphing Jar, Needle Worm, etc without losing any card advantage.

Solemn Warning is broken, so....

Also, Black Rose deserves to be at 3. (You have to successfully synchro summon into it FIRST, hope your opponent has no method of dealing with it, then proceed to summon more monsters. This means you're using a lot of cards. Well, unless you just played a Debris Dragon followed by a Rekindling. But Rekindling is banworthy and Debris Dragon is rather questionable, so that's a moot point. And all of this is taking place while your opponent has so many more cards committed to the field than you that the summon of Black Rose still instigates any significant advantage and that the proceeding swarm doesn't qualify as massive overextension.)

If synchros were done right, Black Rose would be one of the few perfectly balanced field nukers out there. Frankly, in most situations where its possible, I choose Arcanite over him anyway.

Oh, and Mind Crush can't exist at 3 in the same format as Trap Dustshoot, so it's a tossup between the two. Personally, I think Mind Crush serves a much better purpose for the game, since it can be strategically used to eliminate hand-activated cards such as Honest or Battle Fader (I won't metion Gorz since it's banworthy and I never see it played anyways), whereas Trap Dustshoot is just a lucksacked first turn card that lets you peak at your opponent's hand and screw up his strategy.

LolTsukoyomi. She was teh key card in what was essentially a jury-rigged Yatalock. There are too many other cards that would have to be banned to consider bringing her back (In a good format, at least. I can't see her making a significant impact in a format where you can summon a massive beatstick at the drop of a hat and clear the field for 1/8 of your lifepoints, or summon 5 monsters for no cost, or loop into an OTK 50% of the time, etc. etc.)

Cards should either be forbidden or unlimited. Limiting/semi-limiting cards on adds to the randomness of the game and makes winning more about top-decks than actually having a good deck.
True but cards like Night Assailant are cases where Limits actually make sense since you can no longer abuse the infinite discard fodder properties 2 Night Assailants create by Limiting it.

Hmmm, i can see how infinite drop off could be bad.
I get it.
