Since when did Beasts get so good?

I got my copy of Tag Force 5 today and played with the Starter Deck that was built around Beast-Types. It was a awesome build with many Tuner & Synchro options. Since when did Beast-Types get so good? The last time I played was when Lightsworns were the dominant force. Here's a couple of great cards in the Starter Deck.

I always found a use for this monster when I needed a specific Level for a Tuner. I often ended up with a few Level 2 or 3 monsters in my hand so this was perfect.

Invincible for 1 Attack and the bonus of a Card when used for a Synchro. Loved using this guy.

Mine Mole into Naturia Beast with Pashuul is fun.

I don't like the -1 of the ape.

IMO, ape is just as good as quickdraw, since it can change it's level, and can be used for almost any synchro monster.

I mean if I pointed to this card when you didn't know how it worked, and said
" this tuner can be used for anything not requiring a certain tuner and change it's level to suit your needs."

would you run it?

I think I would.alos, for high level synchs, use level eater with this thing. seriously, it's just mean.
I mean, discard a level 4 beast, bring back 2 level eaters with it's levels, and bamn, instant level 9 synchro.

They can be good, but not really high-tier I believe.

Egotistical Ape can well become a dead draw, but at its best it can get out some big old synchro, which is always fun to use.

Hamster and Ryko remain in this world too.

A lot of the Beast support in DREV is interesting. The trick is figuring out how to use them in a deck.

I occasionally see the Unicorn Beacon in blackwings, but other than that I rarely see beast support/monsters, other than sonic the hamster and ryko.

I run Voltic Bicorn in my Zombie Mill deck for fun. Some of the beast support though is too tricky to use, or is versatile enough to show up somewhere else (Horn of the Phantom Beast works wonders in Solid Beastwarrior/Phantom Beast, and Unicorn Beacon is neat in some Blackwings). It seems a lot of them have some sort of RFG effect.
