He's playing on the fact that kids commonly will call everything gay, "that pencil is gay, wow you're gay, shut up baka", and so on. He's using that to be sarcastic to prove the ridiculousness of the way kids use that word. It may be innapropriate, yes, but I wouldn't go as far as saying the old spamming Yugiohmasta is back.
