What would happen if Konami Changed the rules to the extreme?

like lets say

- The number of copies of the same Monster cards where to be limited to 1 in the deck, except those that require multiple copies of the same monster card that summons each other (example, Hydrogedon) or material monster for a fusion summon (Example BEUD which you need 3 BEWD so therefore you can have 3 BEWD in your deck).
- Fusion Monster gets limited 1 copy each on the extra deck.
- The number of Spell cards where to also be limited to 1, except those that allow you to search multiple copies of the same Spell card.
- The number of Trap cards gets also limited to 1, except for those that allows you to search multiple copies of the same Trap card.
- Synchro Monsters gets limited to 1 copy each in the extra deck.
- Max cards in a deck: 40

If Konami where to do this changes, will certain formats be affected and which one might get some benefits on this?

discuss.

It kind of pisses me off that Konami is so afraid to add anything slightly new to the game. Synchros were cool but what ever happened to the potential cool stuff that the anime has? Dark Synchros? Were negative levels really that bad? What's bad are the shitty replacements for Dark Synchros. What about Accel Synchro? Was that too difficult as well?

I want a new game mechanic to play around with. When I heard the words "Synchro Fusion" I was expecting some awesome new mechanic to work with but instead I received regular fusion monsters. How about changing up Rituals a bit more? The new spell cards are a step in the right direction, why not take another?

More Contact Fusions. Why did you stop with Glads?
Can I get a Field Trap Card?
More Divine-Beasts? Why make the Norse Gods wonky types?
Can you release some non themed Psychics. I like Gusta but, some more please.
A Normal Monster archetype? Ojamas are kinda meh.
Can we stop whoring out LIGHT and DARK? EARTH, WIND and FIRE need some love.

Seriously Konami, mix it up a bit.

what about WATER?
WATER actually has a lot of support. It's arguably the 3rd most supported Attribute. I want to see balance amongst the Attributes. I can play a pure WATER non-archetype deck and play quite competitively, I'm sure I couldn't do the same with the others. Maybe EARTH but that would be because of the monsters, there is no good EARTH Spell and Trap support.

Dark Synchros are nothing more than regular Synchros done backwards. They are OPed deliberately to create a contrast between Dark Signers and Good Signers. Oh, and negative levels would be a ruling nightmare with so many level-manipulating cards. I will admit, it'd have been interesting.

What's bad are the shitty replacements for Dark Synchros.

Underground Arachnid was unblemished, and Moon Dragon Quilla is still good. Hundred Eyes was sooooooooooooooooo broken in the anime.

What about Accel Synchro? Was that too difficult as well?

What is this considered, again? Two Synchros Synchroing? Well, only Yusei and Dark Glass had ever performed an Accel, and the latter's cards are being released in Extreme Victory (the pack after Storm of Ragnarok) so you may get your wish for more support. The issue is that Accel Synchros were plot devices in the anime, and mass-producing lots of random Accels will end up taking the same issue as regular Synchros: Lack of balance in either direction.

I want a new game mechanic to play around with. When I heard the words "Synchro Fusion" I was expecting some awesome new mechanic to work with but instead I received regular fusion monsters.

Regular Fusions requiring Synchro monsters. I consider this to, so far, be very interesting. They can be much more powerful monsters than Synchros or Fusions, while still being relatively generic. Naturia Extrio is so far the only Synchro Fusion to require specific materials (debatably, this should have been an Accel Synchro, though). Synchro Fusion seems to be the step BENEATH Accel Synchro, requiring a Fusion card rather than Synchro mechanics, but needing one or more Synchros to create.

How about changing up Rituals a bit more? The new spell cards are a step in the right direction, why not take another?

Give them time. Supporting dozens of mechanics/archetypes in a set is not easy.

More Contact Fusions. Why did you stop with Glads?

Contact Fusions...let's look at the examples: Neos Fusions (they suck), Glads (they're OPed). Synchros then stole the mechanic.

Can I get a Field Trap Card?

Right. Creating a whole new archetype of TRAP CARDS is a step in the right direction. They have Field Spells for field effects. Why add Traps to the mix? Making new monster types and categories is much easier to design than messing around with Spells and Traps.

More Divine-Beasts? Why make the Norse Gods wonky types?

I actually oppose this. Divine-Beast and Divine Attribute are unneeded elements to the game, created initially for the 3 Egyptian Gods. To create more, even in the form of other god cards, is to cheapen the effect those limited few privileged cards have by being unique. And the Polar Gods have better support by not being Divine.

Can you release some non themed Psychics. I like Gusta but, some more please.

The Psychic Type was probably created to avoid the archetype idea being obscenely supported by other Type support cards, meaning many of them will be themed because I expect that to be the POINT.

A Normal Monster archetype? Ojamas are kinda meh.

Ojamas are old school cards. Notice what their new support is? Effect monsters. Let's face it: People dont like Normal monsters when Effect monsters are easier to wield. You can't please everyone. If the support doesn't match up to the Effect-heavy meta, they'll get backlash for the crappy "E-hero junk they're shoving into all the packs, trying to support an archetype thats sucks". Oh wait...

Can we stop whoring out LIGHT and DARK? EARTH, WIND and FIRE need some love.

Agreed.

Seriously Konami, mix it up a bit.

Why not discuss a more general idea of what would be interesting and helpful changes to the game instead? There are some amusing suggestions I've heard in the past.

How would the game change if 1 or more of these happened?

-Life Points move from 8000 to 10,000 or 12,000.
-Level 7 monsters need 1 Tribute for Tribute Summon instead of 2.
-Special Summons must wait 1 turn before being able to attack.
-Minimum amount of cards in a Deck is moved from 40 to 50 or even 60.
-The amount of copies of the same card in a Deck is moved from 3 (maybe to 1, 2, or 4).
-The space in the field changed (number of Monster and Spell & Trap Card Zones).
-The amount of cards drawn during the Draw Phase changed from 1 to 2.
-*other stuff**

As for "new" ideas >.>" from the top of my head.

-Spell Monsters
-Trap Field Cards
-Spell Monster Cards
-Trap Equip Cards
-Spell/Trap Fusions
-Spell/Trap Synchros
-Ritual Fusions (same idea as Synchro Fusions)
-Ritual Trap Cards
-Level 0 and negative (including Dark Synchros. Ruling: Cards like Gravity Bind and Level Limit Area B count the amount of Stars in a monster, regardless of if they are positive or negative Levels.
-Negative ATK/DEF.
-Token Cards with actual stuff in them instead of generic cardboard with pics. (and any combination that can be included like Token Fusions, etc)
-Spell/Traps with more than 1 Icon. Monsters with more than 1 Attribute/Type/Sub-Type.

Yeah Dark Simmorgh is the base of the most broken Deck this meta...

WIND Needs GOOD support...
