Contact Fusions?

"Send, from your hand or side of the field to your Graveyard, Fusion Material Monsters listed on a "Gemknight" Fusion Monster Card, and Special Summon that monster from your Extra Deck. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon.) If this card is in your Graveyard, you can remove from play 1 "Gemknight" monster from your Graveyard to add this card to your hand."

Basically you're discarding/Tributing monsters to Summon a stronger one, since Gemknight Fusion can just return to your hand anyways. And the fact that it's a Pyro doesn't kill it. It's not the strongest of cards, but it's useful nonetheless.

Not really.
The origional Normals were Pyro, Aqua, and Thunder.
Saying this needs a Pyro-Type fusion material is more along the lines of an E-Hero fusion needing a monster of a specific attribute.

It's Special Summonable, and stops activation during battle even during your opponent's turn, or during forced combat?

The sad part is that those probably don't make up for having 800 less ATK and being a Fusion monster without a Miracle Fusion variant.

It is a returnable card, though, and fairly generic in some of their fusions. Plus there are a few searchers that make it easier. and they have a fusion trap.
