Discuss. And 1 thing : when I see someone commenting on anything by "5-card combo. Exodia is better" I'm going to hit him with the nearest hard thing. Sure, when Exodia gives instant win, it's MUCH harder to get in hand than any other combo. Unless it's really ridiculous and requires like 10 cards...

tl;dr = 5 card combos are better than Exodia

When I use exodia in WC 2010, I use search cards. Deep Diver, Emissary of the Afterlife, Sangan and Gold Sarcophagus. Also stall/draw cards as filler, like Card Trader, Cyber Valley and Defense Draw.

The first ever alternate win condition, and finding a duelist with a full set in the old days was nearly impossible, since all 5 pieces were ultras, and there were like...10-15 ultras in LOB.

If Exodia was unlimited, the claim that Exodia > 5 card combos would be more realistic. Unlike most 5 card comboes, Exodia must exist only in the hand to be viable, and most combo pieces are allowed in 3s.

I tried to use an Exodia deck twice, and failed in both attempts. My friend's offensive-based Exodia deck beat it, and his Psychics decimated it. And in a local tourney, it was beat by E-Heroes.

Make a FTK Exodia deck. Everything else just seems slow after.

The most important reason that Exodia is inferior to 5 card combos is that on there own the 5 Exodia pieces are useless. Unlike other combos where the cards have individual merit. Also, certain cards can participate in more than one combo. This gives you a greater chance to draw at least one winning combination. Exodia is part of exactly one combination.

Exodia is only viable if it wins within Turn 1 or 2.

Any later and you will often be overpowered by the much faster, much more aggro decks

This basically!
Also, Gustas make it easy as said FW.

If I feel like making an Exodia Deck just for fun, I use D-Hero Plasma and Dogma, Trade-in, Allure and D-Draw; also, 3 Mallets, Broken Bamboo Sword + Golden Bamboo Sword and Magical Library. Some stalling cards to get to 40 cards.. Then, it works like this: you get Library on the field, then activate as many spells as possible. Ordinary, you either FTK (~40% of the time) or you lose

Either way, your first turn will be everlasting and it's fun to see my opponent look at me as I activate Spell after Spell and ask me "Are you done?" every time, just to tell him "Yeah, I'm done now ... Oh, by the way, here's Exodia in my hand" in the end
