Regionals in Rockville Maryland and Philly

I'm going to the one in rockville will post later today how i did.

For a discussion purpose, How do you feel about regionals in general and what changes do you feel are needed to make regionals a better event for all?

I think what would make them better for all is if there were more of them in more varied cities. Tournaments in general are always too far away for me to participate in.

That is a good point. I feel that way also. I have to drive for about a hour to get to mine. It would be so much easier if it was a 15 minute drive.

I would have to drive 4-5 hours to get to any that have been in my state.

There are rarely any Locals I know of in London and they are all at least a hour away by car. My parents would never bother to take me there.

I'm betting it has something to do with Konami's registration process, that stops a majority of hobby/card shops from signing on. I wouldn't be surprised.

The shop that hosts my locals and regionals is about 10-15 minutes away from me. And another shop that hosts smaller, unofficial tournaments is about the same distance away. I WIN BISHES.

So i got 4-3 today at regionals. It was my first one, so it was a learning experience for me.

Here were my match-ups

Round 1 Machinas
game 1: OTK is really all I have to say
Game two: Fortress +JD equals good game

Round 2: X-Saber
Game 1: Guys drew really badly. I beat him turn 4.
Game two: Much closer game, but I win with celestia.

Round 3: Formula synchro
Game 1: Brings out shooting star turn 4.
Game 2: I OTK him turn 2
Game 3: It was a neck and neck duel, but he wins by decking me out.

Round 4: Quickdraw and debris
Game 1: Takes about 10 turns, but he wins with a black rose nuke, plus reborn.
Game 2: I win by using Juju master to spin his tytainnial to the top of his deck. He scoops for game 3
Game 3: He decked me out.

Round 5: Mirror Match
Game 1: He OTK me turn 3.
Game 2: He won in 5 turns. He had ehren and other cards I don't have.

Round 6: Machinas
Game 1: I win with JD
Game 2: Royal Decree won me the game. He tried to negate JD with oppression but i flip Royal Decree. He scoops

Round 7: Debris
Game 1: I win with Celestia and JD
Game 2: He wins with RDA, Thunder King, and Black Rose.
Game 3: I win with a OTK.

So all in all not bad. I'll need to do better in the future however.
