How do I use Worms?

Recommended Posts

Yes, I am a simple person. I have no clue what the Metagame has ever been like, since I have not once been to an organized event, nor do I have any sense when it comes to building a deck. But Worms look fun. Can somebody tell me what I'm supposed to do with them?

I pretty much went for a Worm Zero Beatdown-thing with the only Worms I thought were of any use.

Also Worm Victory is my favorite. He wins. Victory (summoned via Viper's Rebirth? Queen?) + Runoff from Future Fusion = Big Profits. But how do I strike FOR these profits? One issue I'm wondering about.

Worm Zero x3

Cataros x2
Hope x3
King
Queen x2
Solid x3
Victory x3
Yagan x3
Night Assailant
x18

The idea? Throw away as many weaker Worms you can to bring out Zero and begin to bring back anybody you want. I would've used Warlord, but my style doesn't give me enough time to summon him correctly. Cataros, I barely use. I could use a better suggestion. Hope is just here for milling the deck, though I'm sure there's a better option out there. King is quasi-filler, because I like Queen better. You can revive her and sacrifice her to bring out a VICTORY, AKA the main Beatstick. Yagan and Solid are two of the other few alright LV4 Worms out there. Night Assailant just works. Should I replace them? Maybe.

Gold Sarcophagus x2
Viper's Rebirth x2
Pot of Duality x2
Pot of Avarice
Future Fusion x3
Magic Reflector x2
Book of Moon x2
MST x2
x16

Future Fusion's weakness? Blow it up, you fail. If I search out a Future Fusion and slap a Magic Reflector on it, then we're good to go. Maybe I should drop one, I'm unsure though. We should know why Gold Sarcophagus is there though, but I can't figure out whether to run a second Avarice or a second Duality. One pulls out more fusionfodder, but the other searches faster. Should I just drop the third Zero altogether? Should I go with the recycling strategy? Should I go on and try to search as fast as possible? I don't know. One thing I DO know: Viper's Rebirth is terribad? No.
A: Summon Queen. Tribute herself. Summon Victory.
B: Summon King. Tribute himself. Profit.

Offerings to the Snake Diety x3
Solemn Warning
Solemn Judgment
Seven Tools

I have no idea what I'm doing here.

Well, what do you people have to say? Can you help?

Even if you have never played or seen the metagame, there's 1 thing I think is important to mention. Future Fusion is limited to 1 copy per Deck. Since you don't really participate at tournaments and such, its totally up to you if you wanna follow the ban/limit list xD (I personally believe balance makes things more enjoyable).

Anyways, forgetting about that.
I am planning on making a Worm Deck myself. I suggest you add Worm Xex to your list. 3 copies if possible. It lets you basically Set Yagan from your Deck when Normal Summoned.

For Spell and Trap Cards, All Out Attacks would help you use their FLIP effects as soon as you Set your monsters. The downside is, they MUST attack if you do. With Yagan's effect it shouldn't be that bad.

That or Book of Taiyou for more moderate Flipping.

There is also the option of using Solidarity or Honest for your Worms' ATK issues. (note that all my suggestions are meant for a fun Deck, not the OTK variant).

Night Assailant looks weird there. I guess he is ok if you decide you don't want Solidarity in your Deck.
