I guess this is Yu-Gi-Oh! after a more mature redesign? Maybe the new Blue-Eyes will be surrounded by charred, half-eaten corpses? Or since the "rivalry" between it and Dark Magician was basically a foregone conclusion, it could be chewing on the ultimate wizard (in terms of attack and defense).

Most of the alternate arts drawn by Takahashi himself have no background, like the legal Obelisk. Granted, it would be easy to add a background, but...

EDIT: Just realized, he looks sort of like Milan Frouade from Legend of the Legendary Heroes.

Well, it was released around the same time that the aniversary edition, so we can say the art of the BEWD there IS the new art...
