Card of Sacrifice

Recommended Posts

Way too conditional, relies on your opponent, and carries additional downsides that just make it absurd, rather than balanced.

First, you need at least 2 monsters in ATK position. Your opponent needs to have at least one faceup monster.

Secondly, those monsters, plus all other ATK position monsters you control, must have less ATK combined than your opponent's weakest faceup monster.

Thirdly, for the turn, you can't Summon and you can't switch Battle Positions.

What do you get out of this? You draw 2 cards.

The question I ask is, "How desperate were you for draw power?"

I'd run Jar of Greed before this.

What a dreadfully worded card...

I dislike that "attack position" monsters bit... Seems doppel warrior is the only consistent way to get this effect off and even then its dreadful because of the fact its dead too often. Just play Reckless and Jar/Legacy before running this.

The problem is, you cannot Summon the turn you use this card, so it'll take two turns (one of yours and your opponent's) to really activate this proactively, meaning you would have to have the tokens/weak monsters already on the field and activate it during the next turn, or use your card effects to destroy their weaker monster, leaving their stronger ones on the field so that the totals work out for you, which is kinda wasteful too.

If you summon the tokens/low ATK monsters on your turn, then you can activate Card of Sacrifice during your opponent's turn at the risk of losing them by your opponent instead of using them more productively the previous turn (i.e. for synchros or for tributing).

If you summon the tokens, etc on your opponent's turn, then you end up activating this on your turn, meaning you wont be able to Summon anything this turn, meaning you wont really get any huge plays off the two cards you just drew.

This probably isn't going to be used since it means you have to A: prevent summoning on your turn by activating this on your turn, or B: leave weak monsters on your field in ATK position to get the two cards you're going to draw by activating it on an opponent's turn, risking the weak monsters that could have been used for something more productive >< I guess there's always anticipating what an opponent will do (such as synchro two weak monsters into one strong one where their weakest monster is some 3000 ATK synchro), but its never good to rely on your opponent for such things.

If you control at least 2 face-up Attack Position monsters, and ATK of all face-up Attack Position monsters is less than the ATK of your opponent's face-up Attack Position monster with th lowest ATK, draw 2 cards. You cannot Summon or change Battle Positios the turn you activate this card.

There, it should be worded like this

"Abuse".

The best word ever in the TCG. Abuse. *Dreamy look*

It's like child abuse, only EVEN MORE FUN!

Didn't even know this card's name got changed. I always called it Desperate Treasure. The most interesting thing about this card is that the art is a version of Card of Sanctity.
