Seriously, at the start of each format, everyone is like "OMG, DIS FORMAT GLADS WILL B TIER 1 AGAIN! AWSHUM!" And then it turns out that they're still Tier 3 or lower... so yeah, discuss one of the most overhyped Archetypes ever

Solemn Warning really hit them hard. Both Gyzarus and Heraklinos are easily done in by it, and there goes the whole momentum of the deck. One of the best sides for GBs is Chivalry, its simple and efficient, and often leaves their field totally defenseless and then, especially if they don't have many GBs in the hand, you can just troll over them. I'd say Rescue Cat returning to 1 (donotwant) would give them some extra power but they won't be as good as they were, not because they are getting hit, but because new stuff is introduced that can easily counter them.

No.

Why? Really, it's horrible to make an archetype and then just stop making support cards for it.

Bestiari to 3 or Solemn to 3.

Back to where they were a few years back.

It's funny cause both of those things should happen. Gyz should get banned though.

GBs are a solid archetype and will always be decent. They just need reliable ways to keep their creatures on the field and attacking to be really good.

Solemn should not be @3 it should be @0, IMO, but that isn't the focus of this thread.

Personally, I like GBs as-is. Gyz really looks like it needs to be @0, but the format is simply a level above it right now. Oh well. I should really play them more, but something about them always puts me off during a game.

Retiari to 0, then they aren't a problem any more. That is the only card I am scared of in GBs, personally.

Srs tho, Glads are a good Archtype that have just been made better with the limiting of Book of Moon and the releasing of Forbidden Lance. Now they have protection from things like BTH on their Bestiari and Gyzarus, along with a cool side effect so that they can run over beatsticks more easily. Also with Cold Wave AND Heavy @0. they can happily do the infamous "Summon Glad Beast, set 5 backrows" thing. They are, unfortunately, a better deck now than they were before. Also, surprisingly, Essedari gives them a little more power. It got my opponent game when we were testing with proxies.

Im really hoping the new Fusion sends Glad Beasts from both sides of the field

From what I'm reading, glads are only decently good atm. I'm not sure you would want a semi-chimeratech fortress dragon for gladiator beasts.

Reminds me of Neo-Spacians oddly.

The game is just too fast for them. GB's function in a slow meta where they can basically get control easily.

Also, how is Retiari broken?
Putting it to 0 is just silly.

I wasn't being entirely serious tbh, it's just a personal grudge against GBs, and Retiari specifically. Decks I run IRL: Frognarchs, Infernities. See where I'm going?

GBs are one of the most supported Archetypes, it's only that most aren't worth using.

Not counting the 3 new cards they only recently got, how many cards have come out for them as of late. Wiki tells me that the last pack to have any came out 2 years ago. Even with a lot of support it's hard to keep pace with other decks when all your doing is standing around. Not to mention it sucks for people that went an made a GB deck since their deck (for sake of argument we're assuming they only have 1) isn't getting archetype support, and only a trickle of random useable cards for the deck.

Scroll through Archetypes, there's a bunch of so underrated Archetypes that have enough potential. (Ex. Archfiends.)
