Hey guys As you may/may not know I'm fanfic writing, and I'm looking for your suggestions on cards that give a player drawing power that is an overall +1 on hand/field. Cards such as Pot of Avarice and Card of Sacrifice. It doesn't matter how situational or un-meta, this is for a fanfic after all. Both Aurora Draw and Akashic Record will never be printed, but Aurora Draw "looks" more broken because there's no downside to it - even though Akashic Record is probably the better card. Keep that in mind. Command Silencer, Floral Shield, and Defense Draw are all good fanfic cards, even though they're technically +0s. Revenge Return, too. I've tried to keep the use of anime cards to these two situations: - Needs must - Deck theme The keeping in deck theme when using a card even I find quite broken will become apparent in Chapter 21 of my fanfic (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Ice_Age_Panic) Now your suggestions: Command Silencer - Useful, can't see why it has been made a spell and not a trap (shrugs). Floral Shield - Preferable to the above, would be good if I use a deck running that theme at some point. Defence Draw - I've used this for three different duelists already, hence my questions. Revenge Return - I like that a lot. Blasting Vein - Usefulness obviously destroys on the card you're destroying (Yusei would like this with Limiter Overload, for example) Thank you for suggestions. (I know, says me who has already used two cards from the banned list in my fanfic, but that was just for the iconic status of said cards.) Kinda glad this card is banned actually, solely for the purpose of it being unable to use it as an easy get out in every single deck (GX I'm looking at you) and having to look for different alternatives (see the above comments on Defence Draw). [/quote] At the time, Spells were usually cards that helped you and Traps generally hurt your opponent (notice in Season 1, Negate Attack is a Spell). In terms of usage in decks, it's thematically more "generic" than Floral Shield. Gah, I can't believe I forgot! Take Over 5 is absolutely epic! I remember 'Eye of Truth' was a Spell too. Take Over 5 - Can't say I liked that one. Although handy in a Lightsworn deck when close to decking out. Ancient Leaf - Duels starting at 4000 LP makes this tough, unless changed to 5000. Chaos Greed - Mentioned, a staple in the right deck. Cup of Ace - Lol, 'heart of the cards' equals protagonist luck Hope for Escape - Doable, but same as Ancient Leaf really, would need to give someone a hell of a head start LP-wise. Because realistically, a lot of them are worse than Pot of Greed, like the above (which is technically a +4 since your monster would have been destroyed anyways, and losing ATK might not take a card anyways). Otherwise, Card of Demise, Spellbook in the Pot (or whatever it was), and that one Elemental Hero draw card. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Your monster is going to be destroyed one way or another, even if you don't activate that card. And plus, your opponent would have to be activating an effect to destroy it anyways, since timing dictates this can't be used during the Damage Step. Either way, it doesn't matter. Cards are cards.
