I hate this card because I'm racist against exceeds. I absolutely hate it. The "rank" ruined it. Otherwise I might have a different opinion on them, but until Konami changes my mind I won't use Exceeds, nor will I like them, and Especially will I not run them.

How did Rank ruin Exceeds? Sure, you can't use them for Synchro Summons since they don't have a level, and they're immune to all cards that affect or involve levels (ah, immunity to Level Limit Area B/Gravity Bind...)

I think Exceeds are sort of clever, although the concept is a little OPed because it's similar to Synchros, but without the need for Tuners/non-Tuners and thus is just a bit TOO flexible. The ways to exploit Overlay Units is brilliant, since the Overlaid monsters don't go to the Graveyard and aren't considered to be on the field when they DO go to the Graveyard, so you can exploit things like Genex Ally Birdman, Totem Dragon, etc (cards that RFG themselves if removed from the field), while at the same time not letting you abuse Sangan or similar "sent from field to Graveyard) effects.

As mentioned, Synchros got a lot of hate when they first came out as a new concept, yet took the game by storm. Exceeds will do the same, and it's your loss if you refuse to consider a new and interesting game mechanic because you don't like it.

A nice quote, but I like different, but it's just too different, the rank thing is one reason why.

Not to mention how abusable they will be *cough*gadgets*cough*

I guess I will have to wait and see when I get to use one to finalize my opinion, but as for them now, I'm going to ignore them.

I have a deck without any Synchros or fusions and it does fine, so I suppose I can do the same with exceeds if my opinion stays.

Exceeds will also be the new Chimeratech Fortress Dragon in that decks that don't use the Extra Deck otherwise may as well run Exceeds just because of how easy it is to Summon them. Honestly, my playtesting has shown that this absurd level of splashability is problematic and I hope new Exceeds will be less generic (maybe specific Type or Attribute materials) in exchange for better effects. The reason most Exceeds are dismissed is because the effects are inferior to Synchros...but they're MUCH easier to bring out.
