Catterjune
See topic title. It's a useless nub on the TCG section (Fun Fact: I also can't mod anyone there, so feel free to use that to your advantage) and no one really posts anything worthwhile in it. My idea was either use it for tourney reports, or not use it for tourney reports. ... Anyone? Ideas? *shrug*
HaouJudai
Tourney Reports sounds good - Can it be more of a Tournament Center so we can post announcements for large local events such as box tournaments in there?
~British Soul~
yea.... using that section for tournament reports, and locals reports seem to be the best idea imo
I don't understand what you mean. =\ If you mean like, you and three of your friends are doing a tournament in some guys basement in SomeRandomCity, Alabama, that'd kind of be advertising, wouldn't it? Also I think I'd prefer YCM to keep keep the addresses out of impressionable little kid's hands. Though if it's something more akin to "Toys R Us are having a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament and giving out Ojama Tokens like they did 4 years ago!" I don't see that as too bad... Legend Zero
Also could use it to hold online program tournaments, such as YVD. But Tourney Reports sounds like a great idea.
Toffee.
How about we do something a little random with it, and make it a discussion section for how [Usermade card X] could/would effect the metagame.

-Griffin
Vanguard seems to have some very strong points, but also some flaws. It's pros include that it seems to lack an RFG zone, which means that you aren't forced to run recovery from two areas if a certain card is important to a Deck and the opponent is somewhat likely to RFG it, leading to less lame-duck games where you simply don't have any chance to win. You also don't lose anything when you take a 'direct attack', as it where, which leads to less slippery slope, and therefore less "effectively lame duck" situations. I also like some features such as being able to attack without much major risk of something going wrong, and the trigger mechanism seems to add a reasonable level of risk management, but without any cards to order Decks, or a larger amount of triggers, this feature ends up as simply luck-based. Oh, and you automatically put a rank 0 down, so don't have to worry about drawing one, and you get to do a re-draw, which reduces dead hands. Yugioh should have had that feature, seriously. On the other side, it currently seems to lack much recovery from the 'drop zone' (graveyard), which is pretty much just as bad as having an RFG (can lead to dead draws) and the 'clan' system seems to heavily discourage creativity in Decks. There also seems to be a lack of effects that interferer with the opponent, making a lot of the game turn into ignoring your opponent and just rushing out hits, while keeping a few cards back for defending (the only real player-player interaction the game has). It seems to have potential, and if we consider this first wave of card to be like Yugioh's (largely vanilla monsters), then it still has a lot of room to grow and it could be made into a very good game with some interesting cards, especially if some more generic-ish cards are made to encourage variety and tech! Oh, wait... this was about the strategy section.
Just Crouton
Make it a combination of Arm's idea and also the idea of discussing other TCGs like Pokemon and Duel Masters. In addition, games like Dungeon Dice Monsters.

Oh, wait... this was about the strategy section.
Well, the Granblue/Grand Blue monsters rely on the Drop Zone. I agree that the system of rushing hits and then hoping you do well isn't very good. If all Grades could Intercept instead of just...was it Grade 2?...I think that would be superior design. *Ahem* Strategy section. I agree with Arm, I've always wanted to do that. The trick with sub-forums is that the more forum layers you have to go through, the less you'll want to visit a sub-forum. Tourney Reports can remain floating in the TCG section, I think - I mean, do you need a whole forum devoted to, "Faced Six Sams, he drew god, I lost. Faced Chain Burn, I drew god, he lost. Faced Gemini Beat, he drew god, I lost. Faced Six Sams, he ran Shien. I won"?

Catterjune
Okay so far, the ideas (unless I'm mistaken) are: 1: Tourney Reports 2: A "hypothetical" section (which discusses premade cards, possibly other formats, etc etc) If this rule is applied, I think I'd perfer animanga cards to GTFO out of the TCG section proper, and stick with the hypothetical discussions. 3: Pika not being the moderator of it. 4: Tournament hosting. 5: Discuss other TCGs (Pokemon, Bakugon, Bakumon, Digimon, MtG, some other card game no one plays) Got it. Keep the ideas coming.
