Let's just turn it into Cardfight!! Vanguard Discussion and call it a day.

Having a section just for tournament reports is not going to generate that much activity, as most players on YCM are just bad and will never top/win a good local. Not to mention we only get a report like every two weeks.

There's also the idea of using it for premier information coverage/discussion (such as YCS's, big regionals), but once again these only come up every now and then and keeping it in TCG seems fine enough.

The hypothetical idea seems like the most supported, but in the end the most pointless because you're discussing cards that won't ever exist ever and people will just go "oh hurr durr that card is so broken", or "archetype X will be tier 1 now!" or anything like that, there's just no point to it.

We could be like DGz and have a section where good decks can have their own discussion thread, split into established decks (GK, Samurai, Saber), and rogue decks that can still win regionals etc (GB, Infernity, Gadgets, decent decks). I feel that this is probably the strongest idea since we won't have the annoying monthly archetype discussion threads, and really, there's a lot to discuss in deck threads (tech cards, optimal builds, how to play v.s. matchups).

but idk.

4: Tournament hosting.

Does this mean IRL tournaments (like HaouJudai said), YVD tournaments (like Legend Zero said), or both?

Also, can we just combine most/all of these into the Strategy forum to kill [X] birds with [number less than X] stones?

I see your point here. But what if we set some ground rules, like say any card made in this topic cannot support [heavily supported archetype X]?

A Disccusion for 'Your deck' seems odd.
But with the ratio of spikes to scrubs, its going to go over very well.

Just call it 'The Card Game Channel'.
Discuss anything card game(real or made up) in said thread.

The biggest problem with that would be the (sub)forum would be terribly unorganized and no one would wanna check it out after the first week or two.

"Then the solution should be to have multiple subforums! Make YCMaker do something about it!"

Lawl @ getting YCMaker to do anything.

... If we could get it organized, that'd be excellent. So how about this nice compromise?

Effective immediately, unofficially, the strategy is a lawless nation (which it always was BTW).

To keep things organized, keep little notes at the front of the topic titles.

[HYP] - Hypothetical card discussions, etc etc.

[REP] - Tournament Reports

[PKMN] - Pokemon Discussion

[MtG] - Magic the Gathering Discussion

And just use your better judgment for what prefixes to use for other things. Just keep it organized I guess. =\

... Sure! Why not? *has no idea what you're talking about!* =D

... On second thought, what are you talking about? >_>

Just make sure it's obvious from just looking at the title what you're talking about. Since "THIS IS A HYPOTHETICAL DISCUSSION ON MY FAKE CARD, ICE BURNER!" would be too long, just something quick like [HYP] - Ice Burner would be fantastic!

I totally wouldn't object to that... even though it's never going to happen.

I like the tagged titles idea.

I rethinked that, and I must say, Byakk's idea to make the section into deck discussion one would be the best option

I actually like the idea of a deck discussion, incorporating guides, show records of builds that have topped events, news regarding the techs and builds regarding it. I've seen many members who carry an out-dated mind set when it comes to certain decks (including myself), only because discussion of those decks only happen once in a while. A lot of players in the TCG section probably get their knowledge of the game and the meta simply through card discussion and the Your Deck section, which isn't exactly reliable with updating what techs actually tested good and what did not, and seeing as how everyone is a mindless slave here, they will probably spit out false, out-dated information until someone like Manjy, Byakk, or anyone else who is respected posts otherwise. Also, members who focus more towards the TCG section tend to have very low post counts compared to members who focus on other sections (despite seniority), simply because there isn't any continuous discussion in the TCG section. An active environment with open discussion at all times is probaby the best way to keep up with the other members, whom may look down on on TCG active members simply due to low post count.

I don't trust half of you people as reliable deck builders. When it comes to creating a deck discussion, the TC is supposed to be the most knowledgable on the subject. Therefore, if the TC (who is also probably the most enthusiastic about the subject) sucks, then the discussion will suck. We need a council to approve of what discussions are reliable and what is not. Simply put, a moderator of some sort judges the credibility of the TC and the guide in the original post (which is natural for a deck discussion), and can grade it as "official" or leave it alone. "official" deck discussions should be indicated in the title, and those that have not been validated must not have "official" in the title. to prove of mod validation, the post from that mod should be placed in the original post.

Well, I do know a lot about some Chaos Variants. Some Chaos Variants however I have little knowledge about. So hypothetically speaking, if I were to make a Guide for Chaos Variants and whatnot, I'd probably need some help from people who know about Chaos Variants I don't know much about. And I don't want to sound cocky, but I think I'm the most knowledgeable about Chaos out of everyone / the majority of people here. Just throwin' that out there.
