Should stuff that happened in the past stay in the past?

Nathanael D. Striker

I have done things during my time on YCM that I'm not proud of. Unfortunately, people are using those things against me. I know reputation is hard to change when everything is said and done, but I don't believe it is right to have them carry their wrongdoings on their shoulders everywhere they post. So YCM, do you think things that happened in the past should stay in the past or should we use them against people where ever they go? There is two in-between opinions in this and they are the situation that lead to the wrongdoing happened and what is was.
Once a decent amount of posts have been made (about 3-5 pages), I will ask a mod to lock this. If this thread gets out of control, I'll do it sooner.
Can't read the Spoiler (on PSP) but I can say that having a grudge against another member is just not cool.

When I was banned before, I was expecting everyone to hate me but I was welcomed back like nothing happened. Why not try to talk to the members who hold a grudge? There is always time for a fresh start.

...Really Striker?

Yes, things in the past should stay in the past unless the person never changes. If the person continues to do exactly what they did wrong, plus more, then no. Anything goes at that point.

I was serious when I posted this. And to bring out something, http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/185945-yes-striker-it-was-directed-to-you/. The point of bringing this out is to ask the following question... Are you saying I am worse from this day? Honestly, I believe I improved small bit.

No, you haven't improved. You haven't for one simple reason, you can't. Your ego is too much for you to change, and I doubt you want to change.

If you wanted to change, you would have by now. It isn't as hard as you make it out to be.

This. Some people on this site take it too seriously.

That was me back in the day. Now, I do what I can. If people aren't happy about what I can do, then they have to deal with it. That doesn't mean thy can't offer suggestions on change.

The worst thing you can do is worry about whatever drama happened on this forum, or any forum.

It will all die if everyone lets it die. If something bad happens, then don't worry about it. Just don't do it again, don't think about it, don't type about it, and pretend it didn't happen.

The internet is slightly different than the real world in some respects. One of those few respects, is that when you have a fight/argument/whatever with someone, it simply helps more to let everyone forget about it than to solve it. Simply because, when you bring it up, you bring up bad times, which in turn, pisses off the people involved. At which point, because they have the magical tool of anonymity known as the internet, they will continue to say whatever unpleasant things they want.

Don't take it seriously, and in the words of the Guide: DON'T PANIC.

Well said oh wise one. A rep to you for your wisdom. However, what if those people choose not to forget even if you have?

Do not let it get to you.

Ever.

I'm sure you may have heard something similar countless times, but this is the best thing to do.

I don't know Striker or Mr. Superman or whatever, and I never really hated him, but I've heard a ton of stories when Ice and Layton bitch about him over MSN. They make him out to seem like a bad person, and I'm willing to agree with them because they're most likely right in their judgement.

The most ironic thing, however, is that I didn't hate Striker until this thread was made and I saw his recent posts in General. Dude, if you're going to make threads like this, I'm glad people hate you and I'm glad you'll be driven off of YCM. Make decent posts and threads at the very least, and you won't have to worry about Ice or Layton or Larxene or any others.

You know, people would just let your past issues die if you hadn't brought them up again here.

Stop making your spats everybody's problem; you're just asking for it. ><
Definitely this.

Status updates are also filled with these, as well.

How about telling your problems to a friend, rather than having them be more preached upon the apathetic?

People tend to be really lazy when judging others, which can be really annoying (and heart-breaking :() in real life.

If everything fails, make another account. But be sure to keep it a secret ;]

First impressions REALLY are as important as they say they are. Though you wanna be all "forgive and forget" and "time heals all wounds", it's just not that simple.

This is a lesson I am still learning. Well, I think what needed to be said has been said already. If more people want to post, go ahead. Once we reach the deadline I set, I'll ask for a lock.
