Look in the Music forum. Notice how my thread entitled "Nigga" was locked, even though the thread itself was about a very well-composed song by an upcoming African-American artist. I find that the moderators are very quick to judge, and discriminate against colored people. I hate how YCM has turned into a white supremacist organization, and the moderators are about as logical and ethical as members of the KKK.

Discuss racism, your experiences with it, and how it pisses you off.

Being an African American male, I experience this from time to time, but I only allow it go so far. I mean, honestly, I don't feel as though it's my place to take the racist environment or childhood, or influence, whatever, out of someone. I feel as though it's up to them to get over it, and except the fact that I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere. They don't have to, sure. But there's nothing they can really do about my skin color now is there?

My 2 cents.

America is a kindergarten country. Slavery and segregation screwed people up. In fact I can bet you a dollar that if slavery and segregation never happened and we all just treated people as you would treat a white person, there would be no stereotypes. Ever. But because we were raised into a community That doesn't understand I guess we are all f***ed. Plessy vs Ferguson had already put segregation legal so why not make segregated schools with Brown vs Board of education? Blacks were made inferior. They were called the N word because WE were so closed minded. Schools were segregated, and Blacks were given the same education as white schools and the same qualifications of teachers but because of the building systems and bus routes, hey had to walk at least 8 miles a day to school and back because America was so racist. Remember Emmet Till? How was murdered by two 30 year old white brothers. [b]Just because he looked at a white woman.[/b] Emmet was 14. He was beaten senseless, and hung from a tree. What the f*** America. The brothers CONFESSED to killing him, and the jury set him free because some of the jurors helped them kill Emmet. Racism is ridiculous.

I meant the twentieth and nineteenth centuries. Racism was definitely prominent in America during the twentieth century. I'm sure there were inequalities during the nineteenth century as well. Amerindians, for example, were also overwhelmed by the British and French. Assimilated and forgotten. Very pitiful history, indeed.

The time that I'm rewriting the rules and putting them on a graphics background, you're free to repost a topic about the same artist.
But I think I made it pretty clear (in the rules and an announcement precisely) that a title [b][u]must[/u][/b] contain the name of the artist/song/genre you're talking about. Not "MOST AWESOME SONG EVER!!" or IDK-what, but the names.
And even though Music is probably the most mature-content-accepting section, you guys shouldn't abuse it.=/

Anyway, I read yesterday that one of the most well-known members of a Nazi organization in the US was apparently shot by his own son, at least they found him with the murder weapon. But some of the stuff this guy said...I didn't know if I should laugh or cry about it.=/ Oh well, I'd say we're not going to miss him too much.

Dark is right, but one could argue that he was purposely trying to get people pissed off because he knew the word "nigga" would cause people to react that way, but I digress.



Racism really does suck. The main problem is that everyone just points fingers at other people calling them racist. Republicans aren't the only racists you know. Another thing that has come to my attention is the growing stereotype that black people tend to play the "race card." Although Blacks are just as capable of being racist as anyone else, some whites are a little to quick to accuse someone of playing the race card.

A lot of white people actually cry racism [b]more[/b] than a good deal of minorities here in the US. Of course, by that I mean that some white people tend to be quick to accuse another whitey of being racist towards Blacks, Latinos, or Muslims. (Which isn't even a race.)

Racism will continue to flourish until people learn to get over themselves.

Not trying to be a jerk at all, but technicly, I'm pretty sure that YCM is run more like a monarchy, in which the Admins are the Monarchs, and the mods and supermods, are the lords of there respective fourm sections.

OT: I thought someone might bring up the constitution, so I'm just going to clear somthing up, when the founding fathers said, "All men are created equal" they agreed that this rule only applied to white men. This is even more evident when they mention the "Merciless Indian savages"

My brother failed out of university and became a civil rights activist for black people. One time after my father yelled at him for being a loser, my brother accused him of hating black people, and of smoking cigars in his office while "laughing about his n****r son." When my father got engaged to wife #2, he went back to hating black people. He called black people "spear-chuggers" in public one time. He once looked at a drawing on my wall, and said I had "negro lips." I told him the artwork was of him, and after a long pause, he said "you're a weird person." My brother hates black people, but defends them when it conveniences him. My mother's side of the family is black.

My brother is a racist who pretends to not be racist. He also hates Jewish people because he believes they have lots of money and won't buy him anything with it. In high school, he punched a kid with glasses in the face for being Jewish. He went to juvie for it.

Humor-wise, racial humor is a delicate subject. It's something you can only do with people who you know like that. I often tell jokes about black people with family members. I even do parodies of Asian and Indian accents.

The sad reality is that stereotypes are often - but not always - true.

There was a poll done asking people of all races what race they thought was the least educated. Go ahead and think about that yourself, right now.

Did you say blacks or hispanics? Well, while that may seem very racist, do realize it's true. I'm sure we have smart African-Americans and smart [s]illegals[/s] Hispanics, but the unfortunate truth is that blacks and hispanics have proportionally the lowest literacy and education rates.

I read an article about so called "counterracism", which pretty much stated that as of late, white people are being discriminated against by minorities, and nobody wishes to act out against these groups so as to not be called a racist. It's quite hilarious and ironic at the surface, but deeply troubling that we are so willing to call out white people for racism but not anybody else.

Also realize that many cliques or groups of people of the same race add more fuel to the racism fire. Black people call themselves negros and niggas all the time, but apparently that is a right only available to them. They get quite angry (most of them, at least, I know Ghost is an exception) when other people use those words, even though in both contexts they are derogative words. Black people also willingly choose to omit their "g"s from verbs (i'm goin' to da mall), and choose to speak in a form of grammatically incorrect English (i ain't doin' nuthin'). And yet they get irate when people mock them for humorous purposes.

The people who are affected by "racism" are as equally at fault as the people who are racist. If you allow yourself to be affected by racism, you are simply adding to the cry against racism when there really isn't much left in the modern world. Being half-Indian, I've heard my fair share of racist jokes, but you act like I care. I make racist jokes against Chinese people and black people and Mexican people and Bri'ish people all the time. And if they actually care, it's not my problem.

Opal, that made no sense. I think it was pretty clear that the title of the thread and the name of the song were the same. The name of the song was "NIGGA NIGGA NIGGA NIGGA NIGGA NIGGA NIGGA", but in order to condense that, I just posted the title as "Nigga". I added the /n/ tags to model the thread after my "Always" thread, since they were both extremely lulzy yet legitimate songs. I find it wholly unfair that my thread was locked (even if it wasn't by you), because it was a legitimate topic, and it is stupid to lock a thread based on the fact that other people may be offended. Okay, well, I'm offended by every single pop music thread in Music. But nobody is going to lock those.

And yes, YCM is a horrible organization with dictators. Notice that YCM is as far away from a democracy as possible. The actual members rarely have any say in what goes on in terms of moderation powers and administrative powers. The few times we get a say in things are for trivial matters, like deciding what our Christmas event will be. How exciting! I am not implying that the rest of the internet is stellar and perfect, but at least their members have a greater say than this place.

And before you tell me to "leave if i dun liek dis place", realize that nobody said I wanted to leave. I truthfully claimed that this forum is a terrible organization with dictator mods, but that does not imply that I am gtfo-ing out. This is the first time in months we've had a competent General mod, yet every other section with the exception of completely unmodded sections and Video Games (and maybe some CC, I don't go there (nor will I ever)) is ruled by simply conservative and totalitarian people.

Past white oppression and exploitation of minorities in and outside America has forced them into generally inferior living conditions resulting largely in their having lesser opportunities and resources today, and you suppose that their feelings of resentment and alienation for that are totally unwarranted? You haven't addressed my point. Because of my Pastafarian beliefs, I am offended by all threads that involve the letter "q". Therefore, I will bicker to moderators and report every thread that has the letter "q" in its title. I find it wholly unfair that these people can offend me in such an extreme way, and I will not tolerate it.

It's not [i]my fault[/i] that some retard on this forum can't deal with a thread being made about a song entitled "Nigga (x7)". It's stupid to lock a thread because it was offensive. We've had threads about WWII and Hitler and Nazis (btw, Godwin's Law), and I'm sure some Jewish guy out there got angry, but at least he didn't have a fit over it. It makes no sense, and no one has provided a [i]valid[/i] reason why the thread was locked. Profanity? No, we have rap songs every other thread in Music. Offensiveness?
