Dueling Network's Playerbase

Recommended Posts

How many of you have had players that make stupid misplays, ok. Everyone makes mistakes, like I occasionally misclick or something, but I'm talking about big misplays. I had a duel where the other player suddenly randomly started drawing cards, Special summoning Blue eyes and Dark magician without Trib'ing anything off, and during my turn... Then you tell them the rules and they press the A.S.S button on you. There needs to be a test before you are allowed to duel in rated, or the A.S.S button needs some refinement.

i had the A.S.S button pressed on me when i was playing with DWs... and i think it was because he thought i was cheating when i was making legit moves

I agree with everything you just said and have had exactly the same experiences. There are a lot of good players on there, or I wouldn't have lost 140 out of my 330 games, but there are bad players and players that don't know the rules then A.S.S. you for telling them the rules. There has been loads of discussion about A.S.S. refinement and there still hasn't been a solution.

Why care about getting A.S.S.d? It lowers your rep (which is more worthless than YCM rep) and you quit the duel. The rated section is just idiots and people who are cocky for beating Yugi.dek. People take a free dueling program so seriously that it's stupid.

If you play people who say they are testing then it becomes 9001x better, because if they know the term testing then they are at least competent and ready to lose so it becomes fun.

So some guy A.S.S.'d me, because he kept insisting that Hidden Armory is banned.

One time, I was watching a friend play. His opponent spontaneously Special Summons Soul Absorbing Bone Tower from his hand in Defense, then flips the one he has face down. Still in Defense, by the way. Next turn, he tributes one for Patrician Of Darkness. My friend activates Solemn Warning. Opponent adds Patrician Of Darkness to hand and puts Bone Tower back on the field. Friend proceeds to begin spontaneously Special Summoning Synchro monsters until the opponent rage quits.

Otherwise, I only see common misplays, like trying to tag out with GB Secutor, or thinking Shooting Star Dragon gets an its regular attack still if you use its effect.

Honestly, I rarely find piss-poor players, since whenever I challenge or accept I tend to make sure their rating is at least decent and their rep something that coincides, that usually nets me at least a decent opponent. I've only played a few idiots, most of which have actually listened when I've explained a ruling, and I've only been A.S.S'd twice. One was because he wouldn't listen, the other because I was "taking too long" when I hadn't even spent a minute thinking.

I've never been A.S.S.d, but I've wanted to a couple of times. Some guy Wanted to miracle fusion into chaos Neos because it only said 'You do not you Poly' and I argued for 5 minutes. In unrated. There have also been way to many idiots who Though Triforce with an Earth still can be D-Prsioned. I've encounters that TEN TIMES out of the FIFTEEN DUELS I've had with my Genex...

I've never been A.S.S.'d or given one.

This one guy summon a bunch of cards on his first turn. I play Dark Hole. He quits.

Guy drops Grannel and Scrap Archfiend on his first turn (I went first). He attacked. I Mirror Force, he quits.

This goes to show why having high card prices is a good thing. You would actually know how to play the game before spending that much money.

i just spent 10 mins explaining the rules to this person

- he activate his third TToC, searched nothing

- i then asked to look at his deck to verify and he told me to look at the effect of TToC, he then shew me his deck and i saw Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon, which was a valid target for TToC

his next turn i spent 5 minutes saying he had to discard 3 cards for DWD, then Hand Destruction, but he only done 2, but he done so eventually
