When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard, Special Summon that monster to your side of the field in face-up Attack Position at the end of the Battle Phase. That monster is treated as a FIRE monster, and its effect(s) is negated. When this card is removed from the field, destroy all monsters Special Summoned by this card's effect. This card cannot attack your opponent directly.
Its basically a Goyo that gets stronger over time, but is still balanced. Discuss. Sleepy
It was epic for its time. Kaiba almost looses if it wasn't for the [s]Deus Ex Machina[/s] Critias Dragon. Card seems balanced. You need to either obtain a dedicated field full of FIRE monsters or get some Equips and the such for it to actually be useful. Also, the stronger he gets by its own effect, the less space on the field there is for it to fulfill its best effect. If this card was somehow released nowadays, I would expect the "not attacking directly" clause to not be there. Unless FIRE is powerful enough to make this broken. It can be a temporal beatstick in Flamvell Decks. I have no idea how Lavals work so I can only base myself with Flamvells, Volcanics, and old school Solar Flare Dragon variants. The Seal of Orichalcos actually seems to go well with this card as it gives this a little ATK boost, defensive tactics, and extra Monster Card Zones. evilfusion
So it can't attack directly? That explains the "plot hole" why Alister didn't use Versago to attack Pitch Dark Dragon and this to hit for game. What amused me in those episodes is that he totally changed his deck mid-duel, since he was using Pegasus' deck until halfway through. Unless he was using some bizarre hybrid of Toons and his regular deck and...held onto any non-Pegasus card to use later. Oh whatever, it's the anime.
