Then I've heard about the Trap-oriented version with Horn of the Phantom Beast. Hamon is no longer used and its been that way for a looooong time (that much I know). I don't really understand how do Xyz improve Crystal Beasts =0 What's the focus of the Deck? Last I checked, detaching =/= destroying and you can't overlay Crystal Beast in the S/T Zone. [/quote] He needs to send 3 CB monsters in your S/T Zone to be Summoned and won't ever come back when your opponent gets rid of it. The S/T Zone is the life of CB Decks and Hamon gets rid of it. He is outclassed by Queen of Tragic Endings, which only requires you to control those 3 Continuous instead of getting rid of them and loosing advantage. Also, Queen can revive itself with a relatively small cost and can be used for Synchro Summons due to its Level lower than 8 (In contrast with Hamon's Level 10). At least that is in the Synchro CB Deck. Hamon has no more Synergy with the Deck other than its Summoning requirements. In other words, Hamon needs CB, but CB don't need Hamon. [/quote] I'm pretty sure there was a Realistic Cards contest when someone made a Crystal Dog or something like that. Only thing was that it added "Crystal" spells to your hand and not monsters. Anyways, here's my try at it. Crystal Digger EARTH Lv 4 Warrior/Tuner When this card is Normal or Special Summoned; add 1 "Crystal Beast" monster from your deck to your Spell and Trap zone. If this card is used as a Synchro Material Monster or an Xyz Material: You can have the other material monster(s) be Crystal Beasts from your Spell and Trap zone.
