ITT: Tokens can be used as Xyz material

Recommended Posts

ZeXal episode 18 - Another instance in which a token was used as an Xyz material.
That, plus the fact that Xyz materials apparently are 'still on the field' rather then being sent to an imaginary area, it somewhat makes sense that Tokens could be used as overlay units.

Discuss the possibility of Tokens being used as Xyz materials.

Considering the anime tends to do stuff like that, such as Junk Warrior being a continuous effect and Junk Synchron being a Vanilla, OCG probably won't do this.[/quote]
Junk Warrior was only continuous for a few episodes.
Junk Synchron was never a Vanilla.

And yea, TCG might make up more BS about Xyzs

Seeing the weird TCG rulings, having tokens as materials wouldn't sound very weird.

But then, so many more abusable stuff would happen. Scapegoat o.O

Gorz becomes Number 11
Scapegoat easily makes Tragon/Galaxy Queen/etc
Cards like Cloning could be used
etc
etc

Episode 1:Yusei summons Junk Synchron, then uses Graceful Revival to bring back Speedy instead of Junk Synchron's effect. Stuff like that happens a few times later also.

Trust me, I've spent enough time watching 5Ds to know this.

OT:Goaty would be broke.

Guys, Spaceships could make Rank 4 Xyzs left to right if tokens could be used.

Episode 1 was idiotic, and you know it.

I saw Jin's card as similar to Copy Knight, which became a monster upon activation. So he Overlaid a Spell and a Monster, not a token.

And for RDA's first duel appearance, Jack summoned Stardust during his Main Phase 2 and it didn't die from RDA's effect. The anime sometimes takes a bit to confirm card effects, especially if the cards aren't created in RL yet.

If Tokens could be used, Rank 1 Xyz would be playable.

Guys,
Not using Junk Synchron's effect =/= Junk Synchron being a vanilla.
You all saw the orange card. What happens is that first episodes always try to keep it basic so they don't overwhelm new watchers.

DM's first episode was nothing but a vanilla after another with like, 2 or 3 spells in that game at most.
GX's first episode was a player getting a big monster out and the hero of the show Fusion Summoning once and increasing that Fusion's ATK. That's all.
5d's was full of weak cards and we saw again a 3k ATK monster wasting more than half of the player's hand in order for the main character to beat it.
Zexal was also a pretty basic duel with equip boosts.
