Xyz ain't that bad but their just nice to have as a support, like a complimentary or alternatives before bringing out the big ace of the deck. And XYZ is an archetype, not a type of monster card. I think you mean Xyz. OT: ... Why do people compare Synchros and Xyz? As Darkplant and others pointed out, they are Catalysts, usually. They are more control oriented than Synchros, which are swarm based. The idea of Xyz is maintaining advantage, not beatdown. They aren't comparable beyond WHERE they come from. They probably won't SURPASS Synchros, but they might get even with them eventually. Then again, let's look at the "broken" Xyz, effect wise: Evolzars require dedication (... sorta), Chain is weak enough to not be a problem, same with Emeral, Bahamut/Big Eye/Magi Magi Magician all have conditions to make their robbery harder, Ophion doesn't stop Xyz which can set them up for more/stall plus affects you too, and so on.
