Probably stumbled on the bad guys' hideout or got themselves kidnapped and they're how Ichigo gets himself deeper into this mess. As for me, I actually agree with Sonic. But if the English dub would've taken that into consideration, we would've had Toshiro's voice sound a bit more childish. But they decided to cast Vic to that bald guy. I cried inside. ;_; But they cut off a few things and some of the shinigami didn't have new appearances...including those even shown in the manga...but I understand. And Ichigo's Shinigami appearance is totally kick***. Kinda surprised they ended the anime like that...considering the manga doing what its doing.
