That Extra Deck space could be used for cards you would most likely pull out more often with TGU or other Xyz combos. Discuss whether this is a good strategy or not.
sgrug4
To be safe, i'd stick to ressurectin my own beatsticks. Coz what are you going to do with his tuner? If you tune with your monsters, he still has it anyways.
.Rai
Synchro versatility is better than Xyz versatility. Pretty simple, to be honest. Instead of running an extra 30 Xyzs you're not gonna use, run good Synchros instead. Simples.
CDDRodrigo
Depends on the deck, if you have free Extra Deck space, I don't see why not running Staple Synchros on decks without Tuners.

You're wasting a Monster Reborn borrowing a Tuner for 1 of several monsters you can't bring out otherwise. And if you have free Extra Deck space and have nothing else to put into it, generic Synchros are a great idea, as big amount of decks plays Tuners of various levels. IceDorago
I've used this strategy before. However, I think it's stupid when people put in a bunch of Synchros for this purpose and lose Extra space for cards they actually will use. But, if I have space in my Extra, I do put in some staple Syncs in case I'm able to Mind Cont/Reborn and sync with their monsters. Generally I just use Reborn from my own Grave though or from theirs if they have a better beater.

What if he is waiting for you to play a Tuner he can steal?
That's not actually a gamble because: -You'll probably only have Synchros without having Tuners if you have the extra space. -Cards in the Extra Deck that are not using dedication from your Main Deck are not bothersome to your Strategy. -Monster Reborn is too generic. As for my opinion on the matter. It really depends. -If you have revive-able boss monsters of your own or key pieces that you'd revive, you should probably go for those most of the time. -The strategy is viable if you happen to have all the pieces of the puzzle at hand, and your opponent happens to have something that might help you, and your judgement tells you that what you are going to do that instant is the better option. It's really more often going to not be used for that IMO to be honest.
Althemia
If you're not siding/maining Effect Veiler (a tuner), you're desperately doing this format wrong.

Premier Alexander Romanov
What I am asking is if it is worth running Synchros when you don't have the Tuners to use them, only to use your Monster Reborn to borrow your opponent's Tuners, if your opponent has a Tuner you can use? Or, in simpler terms, why would you have Synchros without Tuners?
IceDorago
You'd have Synchros without Tuners if you have space after including the necessary stuff for your deck just so that if you have an opportunity to Sync with your opponent's monster via Mind Control/Reborn/etc, you can go for it if needed. It doesn't hurt you if it's not taking away from the deck's needed Extra monsters.

Between empty availlable Extra Deck space, or a few extra Synchros just in case (that won't hurt to have), it is always a "yes" for having them. More options are always welcome, especially if you don't have to modify your Deck nor take out any important and already present Extra Deck cards for said options. Ieyasu Tokugawa
Basically, if you have 4 extra spaces in the extra filled with Xyz, run 4 Synchros. I find it insane when people force 6 or 7 synchros just because they run reborn.
DARKPLANT RISING
I always run: -Catastor -Brionac -BRD -Either of Scrap/Starfag -Trish In almost any deck, even if it doesn't have Tuners (as long as that level can be achieved).
