When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can target the destroyed monster; equip that target to this card. This card gains ATK equal the original ATK of the monster equipped to this card by this effect.

WTF?

There better be some serious restrictions to that card's Summoning/Effect, because that's just crazy. It reminds me of the Machine Emperors, except it can absorb anything.

Somewhat reminds me of Goyo for some reason.

Maybe they want to promote Tribute Summoning again?

Found this on Manjyome:

Oh, and its name is Heroic Challenger Warhammer.
Yes, its a Warrior.

So, my guess is that only Xyz are the Heroic Champions, while every other monster like this are Challengers.

It just seems almost too amazing. It's not even once per turn, so multiple attacking buffs would make this even more powerful.

Twin-Swords of Flashing Light. Make it a 1600 double attacker. Attack a monster with 1599 or less (or a defensive monster with less), absorb it, making it in the high 2000 range, attack a stronger monster your opponent controls, absorb that too. End with a monster that's nearing 4000 and can still attack twice.

As if I'd run this anywhere but Warrior Solidarity/Heroics.

Because at the end of the day, Caius and Raiza are better in Monarchs, Caius is the best in decks that want a Level 5/6 monster, Twin Swords of Flashing Light is bad, we have 2 Torrential now, this still can't run over Reaper, or Zenmaines, or Judgment Dragon, or BLS, gets screwed by Wind-Ups in general, Inzektors turns this into some +s for them, and Laggia and Dolkka both run this over.

Of course, you'd have to dedicate a Deck to it. But that doesn't stop it from being amazing on its own merits.

meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh. It's a cool tech at 1 or 2 though.

As always, most monsters become better if they become NEPTUNE fodder along with Hardened Armed Dragon...

...LOVE IT.

Except Neptune and HAD would mess up any synergy with Solidarity or Bushi. So you'd have to make a Neptune oriented Deck to avoid the complete collapse of synergy.

I generally don't build Solid decks, but when I do, I play Solid Reptiliannes.
That way I can still play THE TYRANT NEPTUNE...
