Your view on your country's economy

Felt like making this thread because the jokes about the "2nd and 3rd world countries" are still frequent.

The way I see it, the country I live at, Brazil, is possibly on the best economical position after China (and China is suffering much more than us with the global crisis). We are currently the 6th biggest economy, we have some of the best plantations and natural products, we have one of the biggest reserves of oil, we barely trembled with everything that's happening with Europe and America since 2008, we're probably the biggest worldwide negotiators, where we have good and healthy business with basically the whole world and we make a lot of prime matter for you Europeans and Americans to take care of the industrialization.

Sadly, despite all of this, we still can't make our INTERNAL economy, and all public infrastructure, decent enough to make up rise to that "Top level" you guys from above are. And the reason is obvious, our folk does not make plans properly. Brazillians are known for being brilliant when it comes to ideas, but awful when it comes to execution. And that's probably one of the reasons why most of our government is corrupt/not caring.

With that said, I cannot see us evolving until everyone here realizes our own potential and actually act. I mean, we're letting America take over our Amazon. Our biggest natural treasure, it's just... being sold.

Peoples' opinion on a children's card game forum about economy. Let us see how this works.

Could be worse, could be better. I think it is fine, and I really don't care until it starts to get worse. We need to stop throwing money around like it is nothing though. One thing I think is that people know how to make things worse than they appear because what they are having trouble with, but not thinking about majority. 9% of people out of business is bad, but no completely major.

Strangely, you can't really criticise the UK's economy this year. The economy is /beginning/ to recover from collapse, and unemployment is pretty much where it's always been.

Depends on your area really. The UK's on average has a rather average economy really. That's it. The majority are middle class, with various areas of council estate residents and various areas of rich people. London demonstrates the weird diversity well. Infrastructure is decent overall, and its position is more than sufficient world-wide.

Via some handy facts I learnt, Britain's overall economy decreased a really small amount this year, but actual national internal household spending has gone up. Britain is definitely not gonna suffer an economic crash any time soon, but it's not making massive progress either.

Worldwide, I'm impartial to say that China is the main rising power economy wise.

To be honest, I rarely notice changes in Australian economy, so my opinion will be shitty to say the least.
We suck. We're spending all our money on laws we don't need *coughcarbontaxcough*, not to mention the issue with those immigrants.
No matter what the state of our economy...
I blame the government.
